So many issues I have with this place. May have just been here too long working. Most of the staff are wonderful people who have been through much turmoil due to the fires. Some others could use some " hospitality" training more demonstrations of " Aloha" for those at the property ( long term) for work trying to help the community. Never too much to ask as hospitality is the business.Rooms: Older hotel , carpet needs replacing. Dustiness contributed to many allergy and sinus issues. Could not get the ant problem under control in the original room that we had to remain in for 2 weeks.Noteworthy details: The Ladies of the Starbucks are outstanding , hospitable, and gracious despite the situation and added volume of customers

we stayed at this resort March 7 thru March 12, 2024. We are PLATINUM ELITE with Marriott so we hoped to get a room upgrade. We were also able to use our "Suite Nights" reward to get an additional upgrade. The room we were assigned was in a section of the resort that is at the very top of Black Rock so our view was basically just ocean. We could barely see the beach to the North of us. So the view was just ok. We would have preferred a beach/ocean view. The room and this section of the resort is in need of some major renovation. Everything just looked old and dated. The carpet in our room was very worn and there was a huge stain near the bed. My wife and I had to wear our shoes at all times in the room because the dirty floor just turned our socks black if we didn't. Since we had a late flight on our last day we requested a 4 pm check out. We were originally told that this wasn't possible. On the morning of our last day I spoke to an absolutely great lady at the front desk who went out of her way to juggle some reservations so that we could check out late. Her name is Evelyn Johnson. Ms Johnson is one of those people who truly understands what great customer service is!

This is the only resort we stay at when on Maui. The pool water should be a little warmer. Have experienced cold water in the pool for 15 plus years. Please consider increasing the temperature of the pool water. Truly enjoy the Sheraton Maui for all other resort aspects.Walkability: Love walking each morning on the oceanside boardwalk for miles.

The hotel location, pools and concierge are great. However, if you're needing constant speed internet in your room beware of the rooms location. Due to, what appeared to be, the wi-fi access point being by the elevators at one end of the tower, not all rooms would receive adequate wi-fi coverage. In fact, we were in a room far from the elevators and only had spotty wi-fi very early in the morning then none at all the rest of the day. This was very frustrating and I would hope they realize the access points should be mid way of all rooms.

This place is very well located directly on the beach and building 6 is overlooking the ocean and perfect for whale watching out your porch. The service is great but the front desk over the years has had very limited flexibility. Rooms are well appointed with microwave, fridge, coffee, and more :-)

Checked into our room and it was filthy. Am asking for a room change. Such a disappointment for such an unreasonably expensive location to stay. Well they transferred us to another room, moved our luggage while we were out despite our request not to, and they didn't transfer some our belongings which we refrigerated. The refrigerated stuff never showed up, they hept saying it was lost and finally after we were here for 2 full days the said it has been trashed. Why did it take them so long? I won't let unsettled matters lapse until I receive a reasonable answer. They gave us a room credit...but my stuff was lost. When I understood they were under the Marriott umbrella everything became crystal clear because in my estimation Marriott and it's partners have been slipping for the past several years. In my estimation, from personal experience:Housekeeping is terrible .Customer service is slipped. Prices are very high. I'm still disappointed in this enterprise.

Once I learned it was under the Marriott umbrella I was disappointed. They checked us into a room that hadn't been totally cleaned...in my opinion Marriott's housekeeping has slipped over the years at properties in which. We went to have supper and we learned they changed us to another room despite the fact we asked them to wait until we returned. They moved our luggage to the new room but didn't bother to move some stuff we put in the refrigerator in the old room. When I called the front desk three times to find out what happened to the stuff in the frig they said nothing was there. I finally went to the front desk the day before we left and was advised our stuff was thrown away. We received a room credit, but why couldn't they have been more honest with us to begin with? The rooms are dated and need updating. The rooms never seem to be clean and the carpets are worn. I wouldn't plan to stay here again.
