What a relief to find an Animal Clinic that actually cares for your furry kids and their human parents ! Dr. Haight, Dr. Palomino and their staff are all amazing. They are very efficient, kind, accommodating and considerate to your needs and concerns. Pricing is always clear before starting treatment because you get an estimate. My Shih Tzu has recurring allergies and issues and they are a great support to us. We are in Lāna’i and take a ferry ride to Maui to see them.

Staff are friendly and calming, have been great with both my dogs. I also appreciate that they give detailed up-front pricing and answer any questions about it, at a reasonable price I'll add.

Nah, he'll nah. They leave you waiting forever. They couldn't care less, they are the only show in town and they know it. This place used to be amazing. I remember when they were great, but they have completely checked out. Too bad it's the only decent vet on island. I used to love them, but whatever, treat me like trash I'm out...my time isn't important? Blow me gfy

I have taken two different cats to this vet and they've seen various doctors. Honestly, the ladies are really nice, and I think that the staff really does care about animals and their well beings, but this vet clinic is expensive compared to Lahaina Vet or some of the other smaller places upcountry. I had to spend ~$420 for one of my kitty's UTI issues several months back, because they couldn't get a urine sample from her due to her state of fear, and so they sedated her to get a urine sample to confirm she had a UTI... which we pretty much knew when I took her in. Fun. Additionally, I spent ~$320 another time when I took a different cat in for an eye injury. They did 3 or 4 tests, but my point is that every time I go here I spend $300 or more. I also don't really like that they wouldn't let you into the clinic after the state lifted mask mandates. I understand where they were coming from, but I didn't like the idea of sending my cats away with strangers and coming back with a $300+ bill. I don't know. I thought that was my only option at first, and that all vets here were expensive, but honestly after I went to a different vet on the West Side a couple times, I can tell you that these were my bills: $175 for multiple diagnostic testing on 2 cats, and the other for $75 for diagnostic testing and exam for 1. The doctor also gave me a lot more information, and it felt much more personal. Sorry man, it just doesn't make sense for me to pay MVV what they charge for what they provide.

The staff at West Maui Animal Clinic are friendly, helpful, and professional. They answers our questions promptly and offered alternatives that we could look into as far as the types of medication and where we could purchase it other than their clinic.

We took our newly acquired 7 1/2 week old puppy for first check up and vaccinations. They were prompt and very informative. Because of COVID-19 they took the puppy in by herself. Upon her return she seemed happy!

I really wanted this place to be my vet for my newly adopted cat. I was trying to be a good pet mom and made an appointment a few weeks ago to get him established with the doctor as she comes highly recommended. I made an appointment a few weeks ago, but never received any kind of confirmation, so I called them a few days before the appointment to confirm myself. I show up today (after traumatizing my cat by loading him in the car, it broke my heart to hear him crying the whole way over), and when I get there I called them as requested, only to be told that they tried to contact me because they need to reschedule. I told them I never received a message and it turns out they had an incorrect number on file. I get that mistakes happen, but not once did the admin apologize for the trouble, she just said "someone made a mistake" and that she didn't have a doctor. I don't even know if there are other vets on this side of the island but I will definitely be looking.

I can’t say it enough how awesome Dr. Palomino and Monica are. Please note, there are two vets in that office. Dr. Palomino is very personable, loves her patients and takes time to talk face to face with the owners. I dealt once with the other vet over the phone when my dog was dying. It was a cold conversation. I felt she was trying to talk me into unnecessary tests and procedures.Dr. Palomino made sure she took time, face to face, with masks on, to explain what was happening with our girl, our care options and answered our many questions we had at every visit. The appointments didn’t end until she knew our questions were answered. Dr. Palomino has such empathy and sympathy for not only the animals, but us pet parents as well. From the very moment Dr. Palomino had to tell us our girl had cancer, she was there every step of the way. Not just at her office, she would call to see how we’re all doing. The morning we knew it was time for our girl to be relieved of her pain, Dr. Palomino and Monica rearranged their schedule to come to our house early in the morning. They were respectful of our feelings and time to say goodbye. Dr. Palomino explained every step while also loving on our sweet girl with us. We all were crying. We will never leave our dogs care to anyone else. I’ve had many dogs and many vets and she is one in a million. She did what was right for our girl. She did everything she could for our girl which helped our girl live comfortably past what statistics said should be.

We LOVE this place! Every single person who works there is warm, welcoming & makes it a pleasure to go to the Vet. My friend and I take a ferry boat to bring our golden retrievers from the island of Lanai to come see this vet. She is the BEST! If you have a pet... go here!

NO, I will not recommend this place to anyone for anything. It’s only about the money, NOT pets or people who love them. I had to have kitty euthanized, and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Yes, I have had a number of pets that needed it, and this time was no exception. He was such a sweet cat and I was his person. Love and affection was mutual. Something unknown happened to him and I took him to this vet, where they had me stay in the car while they examined him, and then presented the options of imminent treatment and recommended testing. A good vet would have known immediately if it was a poison, and treated him. They didn’t know anything with examination and took Very little to No time for observation. I chose to have him hydrated, as it seemed the only obvious treatment at the time. A few weeks later he rapidly deteriorated after losing his appetite and in a few days it was obvious to me that it was time, so I made the appointment. They let me go in with him, sent a tech in to explain the procedure. Why would a docile cat that could barely walk need to be sedated? “Dr. Palomino likes to keep them calm with sedation, and insert a catheter for the euthanasia “. The vet didn’t even meet or examine him at all. So they sedated him there with me, took him to a different area for catheter insertion, and brought him back for the actual euthanasia. I believe he was already gone Before injection into the catheter, as he was unresponsive and there was absolutely no change after the injection. It was long and drawn out because of what “Dr. Palomino likes to do.” Such a heart wrenching and disgusting way to treat animals and people at a sad time.
