Wonderful eclectic group of artists from all over Maui. Knowledgeable staff helped me to find something special and made it easy to ship home.

The home products here are gorgeous. The wood pieces are so cool. The jewelry! I could not pick a piece if I tried because I loved them all! The men's jewelry was especially cool!

Loved going here. There are so many cute things to buy. I got a necklace. But I wanted to share some pics of some of the stuff they have so others can stop and check it out.

You can find nice, beautiful and well crafted pieces that are locally made with relatively reasonable prices! The staff members are accommodating which is another reason why I wan to go back to the store. I personally like this location better as it’s low key yet they’ve got lots of local gems!

we bought multiple prints of different art that was matted. I bought one of dolphins. I knew it was photo shopped but it was for a friend crazy about dolphins. I assumed it was made/sold by a Maui artist. i accidentally came across the exact same picture on Amazon as a set of four on wooden frame for less than what I paid for the one print. my friend loved the picture but I still feel I was taken since I thought I was supporting local. Very disappointing ..

Great store for getting locally made art and jewelry. Staff always friendly and helpful, probably the best of all the Maui Hands locations. Prices reasonable especially for Hawaii. Worth a drive to upcountry.

Service: 4.5 stars Value: 3.5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars This is my favorite Maui Hands store - it's their largest size gallery, they have a cute small back patio area displaying larger outdoor art pieces, and it's way less crowded/busy than the other Maui Hands locations. Prices here are not low, but the quality of the items and art is much higher than, for example, many of the items at the Maui Swap Meet. If you're looking for a great statement piece for your home or a memorable high quality handmade souvenir, Maui Hands is the place to go. The staff is very helpful and is also able to ship if needed. Tip: there is no Kama'aina discount here.

Every time we are in Maui we make it a point to visit Makawao to support the local artists. There are multiple locations for Maui Hands but this is by far our favorite. It's large and the folks are always happy to help give you more information on who the artist was that made it, where they are from and how they create such amazing stuff. So take the time to visit Makawao and stop by this location of Maui Hands...you won't be disappointed!!!

A wonderful selection of custom designed original arts in a variety of media. The wood items are amazing and the jewelry is awesome. These stores (there are 3 on the island) have the most wonderful selection of hand made native Hawaiian shell lei's. These items are totally unique, made of thousands of hand selected and found shells from one island in the State which is protected from development. Selling for thousands of dollars and not available anywhere else this is a collector's paradise. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, eager to assist or just let you savor the items. We go here on our annual trips to Maui and always find something to purchase.

Maui Hands represents a large number of local artists in various media. During my recent trip to Maui, I visited this location and the one in Pā'ia. There are 2 other locations in Lāhainā and the Hyatt at Kā'anapali. he Makawao store is located off the main street and is worth the pretty easy effort to find it. It's a really good place to visit as it's high quality arts and crafts and the people working here were pretty excited about their store. The community vibe was also pretty strong as there was a lot of local chatty conversations going on when I visited. I was looking particularly at Koa wood pieces (especially boxes), ceramics, and glass, and I wasn't disappointed. I also appreciated their hands off sales approach and complete and patient answers when something caught my attention and I had a question. And yes, you'll pay a little bit more for local arts and crafts, but do you really want tourist store schlock to take home?

We’re were quite impressed with Maui Hands! The staff was amazing, even though the size of the item was rather small, the place was gracious and delightful. Looking forward to another trip soon! Best Wishes ?

I decided on my trip to Maui that I was not going to spend money on cheap souvenirs that were made in the Philippines. I went to Maui hands and spent more money than I intended on beautiful locally made jewelry, pottery, and carvings, and my family was thrilled with the things I brought back from Maui hands. The extra money spent getting locally-made handcrafted items rather than cheaply made and mass-produced items was well worth it.
