While Lumeria is a beautiful quaint quiet property, the price fix dinner at wooden crate was very disappointing and overpriced. My rib eye was thin, flavorless and served with mediocre fries. Grilled asparagus were average at best and not served hot.My guest was also disappointed. Dinner for two with dessert and one glass of wine each: $150!! Highlight of the evening was relaxing in beautiful lobby and walking grounds.Hope they make needed changes and ideally set up expensive dining in lobby quarters vs outside on porch deck. You can BE better!

This used to be a great place to have dinner. One did not know what would be offered for dinner until the Chef had completed his shopping! The meal would be worth the markup for the great location! Now they have a set menu and various choices, prices are still high but food is mediocre at best!!I do not recommend this place for dinner, go to the “Fish Market” in Paia and get a large helping of the freshest fish for less $$, however, you will stand in line to order and seating is on benches.P.S.: I had invited a business man and had praised this restaurant. He left half his dinner on the plate. I was embarrassed. Also want to mention that the menu does not state pricing for the meals, left $150 plus tip for two meals and two glasses of wine- not to mention that I am “Kama’aina” (local) and had a 10% discount! Enjoy the beautiful grounds but stay away from this diner (!) is all I can say!!

The food was tasty and quickly served by efficient staff. The location and vibe is immaculate. Could hang out there all day. We were in and out in 75 minutes.

The food was very good. The service was average. The price Overpriced! We live in Maui and started gong there a few years ago and the price with tax was about $120 total but for two now $175. Unfortunately they will loose our business since their prices are now comparable to Mama's Fish House which we have never been to because of the price. That's too bad because we really enjoyed going there : (

Wow !!! This place was amazing. The wooden crate is my top 2 restaurants of all time. Rib eye and mahi mahi might have been the best I have ever eaten. Everything about this place was incredible. Recommend 100 percent !!

I'll echo what reviewer Molly P. said, the ambiance is actually very nice, and honestly the main reason to dine there. It's very intimate with rural midwest country farmhouse vibes (in a good way), but placed in a tropical setting. The only drawback is that you can easily hear conversations next to you, but I'm sure what can really be done about that so I wouldn't necessarily hold that against them. The meal service was good and our server was attentive, but the food was fairly average and overpriced for what you received. The rib-eye steak was unremarkable and served with with plain steak cut fries and barely seasoned asperagus (??). The macadamia nut mahi-mahi was honestly sub-par, with the fish being somewhat dry and overly firm (perhaps slightly overcooked). The macadamia nut portion was generous, but piled on top without any significant sauce to speak of. With that said, the sides were solid with some flavorful mashed potatoes and nice sautéed vegetable medley. I thought the first course tomato soup was actually very good with nice consistency and flavor, but the salad was disappointing with limp veggies and croutons that were extraordinarily salty. Deserts were above average with the tiramisu being especially yummy, but I will reiterate overall the food was uninspiring and definitely fell short of expectations for the price. Again, the atmosphere there really is terrific on a nice evening nestled in one of the most beautiful spots on the island. With that said, if you decide to go keep your culinary expectations in check. Understand that the ambiance is half of what you're paying for and the the food may be slightly underwhelming.

Very disappointed by the cuisine here. We could not finish any dish (too sweet for the tomato soup, too salty and oily for the fish and too dense and sweet for the chocolate dessert). Worst meal in a long time. Too bad.

The ambiance was nice but it did not make up for the food. I'm shocked to see so many good reviews of this place. The Tomato Soup was so sweet it was not edible. Literally, it had to be sent back. The salad was coated in dressing that was also very sweet and the veggies were sad and limp. And then the curry... I ordered the Thai Red Curry with Tofu. First off, there was a tiny bit of curry sauce in the bottom of the bowl, topped with jasmine rice, veggies and breaded and fried tofu. The veggies were so oily I couldn't eat them and the tofu was tasteless. I ate a bit of the the dish because I was hungry but it was really, really bad. My wife ordered the mac nut fish and her experience was just as bad. The fish was dry, the mashed potatoes were so salty she couldn't eat them, and the veggies were again, really too oily to eat. We both had the chocolate torte for dessert. It was too dense and thick and sweet. I had a couple of bites and was ready for the check, which was $114.00. A ridiculous amount of money to have to spend on horrible food and terrible service. Oh, the service - it was almost as bad as the food. Our server was not helpful at all and it seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. The table next to us ordered steak and it had to be sent back because it was raw and bloody, and one woman couldn't eat her food because there was too much pepper. I will absolutely never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Our stay was unbelievable and I wish we could've stayed longer! The property is stunning, so tranquil and tasteful in the landscaping, features, etc. Rooms are gorgeous and the bed is so cozy! Every staff member is sooo kind and welcoming. Highly recommend Lumeria!!

We made same-day reservations on Open Table, which were accepted and confirmed. After a 40-minute drive, we arrived to find there was no one at the restaurant. We called the front desk of the resort and the person there informed us apologetically that the restaurant had decided to close for the evening due to lack of reservations. I received my seated confirmation from Open Table two days later.

Beautiful pre-fixe dinners which I love because you get a the good things at a great price. Their salads are fresh and delicious. I had the macnut Mahi one night and the rib-eye another. The veggies are so good and the breads they make in house are great.Great place to go for a quiet dinner date with quality food.Only two seating times 6:30 and 7:00 pm.Definitely can become a favorite.
