There is a “Karen” working there and her name is “Karen Gionson”and she’s the branch manager. This lady is so unprofessional it’s insane. My wife and I are trying to get a puppy and my mother in law who is 84 sent us some money for the puppy. We went into the branch and the branch mgr “Karen” named Karen Gionson told my wife that she could be “elderly abusing” her and her account is locked. My wife and I have been taking care of her mother for the past several months. It’s been tough for my wife and I her mom go through so much. She fell and broke her hip and when they did scans they found a mass tumor in her head. It’s been a relentless stressful journey for the both of us and her mom. Karen told my wife at the branch her helping her mom with her account is elderly abuse to help. Her 84 year old mom who gave her daughter 2 POAS and who asked for help is unprofessional, unethical and just heartless. It’s not her job to say her alleged accusations especially if they are opinions. I called Navy Federal to see can say those things and they said not at all. Especially implying elderly abuse to a customer. The Karen also told us we can’t import a puppy to hawaii unless it’s 6 months old, which is false. Hawaii gov website says Australia is exempt, due to it being rabies free already, puppy at 12 weeks. We asked Karen where she is getting this information and she blamed it on the noted the security team had in there. We called to confirm this with navy fed and there was nothing in there of elderly abuse and can’t buy a puppy. She also said they are worried we will want our money back form a wire transfer and we told her no that’s not true wires are like sending money you can’t get it back and as the manager she should know that navy federal reads disclosures on the liability the customer will have if the transaction proves to be fraudulent, basically it’s the customers responsibility to due their Due diligence and make sure it’s legit before sending because navy fed will not give you your money back. Navy fed said there is nothing in the notes of elderly abuse or a puppy at 6 months. This means she googled it on her own behalf, googling things about our purchases, which is none of her business. We went back in person and asked about all the things she said and told my wife “if she continues to be aggressive she will have to leave” when she wasn’t being aggressive at all. She was frustrated that you said helping out mom is elderly abuse regardless of the POA’s we provided to you and in the noted it says you can’t get a puppy it had to be 6month.This is the crazy part, I filed a complaint against her and today social services showed up at our house claiming Karen Gionson made a complaint against us for financial elderly abuse. This Karen shouldn’t be working there and gives all other Karen’s a bad rep. She abused her role as Navy Federal branch manager and look in the system and give them our address! It’s been very hard so us after all our mom has been through and to try and get our mom taken from us is disgusting.

Mililani receptionist saved the day! I had gone by the Radford branch. Tried to drop off paperwork, but the receptionist wanted me to sign in....behind 20 people waiting in the lobby (more than an hour wait). I tried to explain that I just needed to drop it off, and then she said I could go to Miliani if I didn't want to wait......so I took the 20-minute drive. The Miliani branch receptionist took it no problem, out in 1 minuteshe said, "no problem, we'll FedEx it tomorrow.

Went to open an IRA. the man handed me the wrong paperwork and instructed me to fill it out with no assistance. Then handed me paperwork to fill out as if I was DEAD. I called customer service and they confirmed I was given wrong paperwork. What was annoying was I told him I didn’t require a transfer since I have the fund right now. And he didn’t listen. Especially since I have worked in a different bank and I am familiar with the process. Annoyed bc the guy acted like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was talking about. He was a middle aged male with medium tan complexion. Better training is required if you want to work in this field if you don’t know ASK someone. That is at least what I do, instead of giving FALSE information. Disappointed.

12 years of being a NFCU member and this has been the worst branch I’ve ever visited, seemed like they did everything not to do their job, had a excuse for everything why they couldn’t do a certain transaction. Even refusing to follow the protocol navy fed corporate office stated, very poorly trained staff.

Spent awhile on the phone with their auto loan dept, went in branch to get my check...it was wrong. I had to fill out a new loan application and that was wrong too. They had my sales agreement in front of them. Then I spoke to customer service about this and I tried to tell her she is not fully understanding this situation (she said "yes I do because I am staring right at all the numbers) and after about half an hour she finally understood but couldn't help me. The branches don't have direct lines so now I have to go in again to hopefully resolve this issue. Honestly, I don't think the lower rate is worth all this hassle and if I could cancel it I would.

They close at 5:30 so I called at 5 so I could let them know about an international travel plan and to not think our account got hacked, someone picked up the phone and cussed saying “**** that” and hung up. Completely puzzled at the fact that someone who is supposed to represent a company would pick up the phone to a customer like that. Makes me want to switch my banks entirely. Setting that aside, I called the line again because I want to make sure I get the message across so our account doesn’t get shut off, and now it’s about to be 5:30 and they aren’t picking up. Terrible terrible service.

Got off from work, rushed through traffic, and arrived to this branch 15 mins before they close. The staff greeted with reasons why they could not assist me because they were closing. I have been a customer for over 10 years and I wished I have read the reviews before trying their customer service here. Thanks for serving the country!
