About Colony I at Sea Mountain
Colony I at Sea Mountain offers a peaceful and relaxing oceanfront retreat in a secluded location. Guests appreciate the unbeatable views of the ocean, which can be enjoyed from the balcony and throughout the well-maintained, clean units. The property is quiet, with no traffic or crowds, providing a perfect setting for a restful holiday. Many visitors love the natural cross-breezes that keep the units comfortably cool, making air conditioning unnecessary. The proximity to Black Sand Beach is a highlight, allowing guests to swim with turtles and even see baby turtles emerge into the ocean—a truly special experience. The grounds are lovely, and the resort is small, adding to its peaceful atmosphere. It is ideal for those seeking a more "off the beaten path" experience, with few nearby amenities, so guests are advised to bring supplies. The rural location offers proximity to natural attractions like Volcano National Park, which is about a 35-minute drive. Visitors generally find the staff friendly and the units very clean. However, some have noted a smell of weed from the designated smoking zone and encountered a single cockroach, but these issues did not detract significantly from their stay. Overall, Colony I at Sea Mountain is a charming, quiet retreat perfect for nature lovers and those looking to unwind in a beautiful, natural setting.

Excellent location! Nightscapes open up to a beautiful view of the Milky Way and constellations as fars as the eye can see.

Very quiet, except for the breaking waves. Smallish condo complex walking distance to a black sand beach, looking out to a meadow (defunct golf course) and ocean. No services, but a cute town 8 miles south with groceries, restaurants, coffee shops and a bakery. 30 miles north is the entrance to Volcano NP
