Cashiers were rude. I saw one cashier yelling at an elderly customer who just wants a decaf coffee.Taro malasadas was good but not worth 20 min wait.

Plate lunch was delicious, and the malasadas were out of this world! Definitely a place to check out if you're driving around the south side of the island.

When the recipe was adapted and prepared at a resort restaurant in Punaluʻu (Kaʻu District on the Big Island of Hawaii) in the 1970s, the sweetbread was an instant hit. To keep visitors and kamaʻaina supplied with this popular favorite, the Punaluʻu Bake Shop was opened in 1991.
