Even if you’re on the west side of the island, it’s worth the drive over just to visit this place! It’s the nicest gift shop and art shop, with the most beautiful gardens—be sure to walk through the “secret garden”—and fabulous meals, fresh and organic. They have signs on the tables of hand crafted sculptures, jewelry and such saying “Please touch!”

Beautiful little gem of a cafe with delicious food. The garden salad and soups were especially delicious with amazing vegetables fresh from the garden. The seating is cute inside and there are beautiful little garden seating areas outside. Service was very nice, and lots of nice art to look at - humble and very understated

On my way from Hilo to Punaluu Black Sand Beach, I decided to take a break (lunch) near Volcano and found this cafe by chance on Google. If the weather is nice, you can also use tablecloth in your garden. All menu items are vegan. I had lasagna. To go with the soup (there are two types to choose from. I ordered the Full Moon Mushroom and Seaweed Chowder. What came was a miso soup-style soup with shiitake mushrooms and wakame seaweed, or rather, miso soup), green salad, and bread with grapes in it ( Comes with thin slices of toast (baguette style) and tortilla chips. On Sunday, there was also a Sunday Special Branch. The carefully prepared food was delicious, so I highly recommend it ???It's on an old volcano street from the main street, so you need to be a little careful. Turn right immediately after passing the store on the main street of Google Maps and enter the old volcano. If I ever go to Volcano again, I'll go here for lunch ?

Excellent vegetarian food. Reasonable prices, spinach crustless quiche included a small cup of soup (2 choices), small salad and some yummy bread. Homemade vanilla ice cream very good. Fun setting.

Best description is that this is a hidden gem. It was by fluke we stopped in. The location was beautiful with an indoor cafe and plenty of outdoor seating too. We sat in one of the greenhouses and had a wonderful lunch. I’m gluten free and was pleasantly surprised there were so many options for me. I ended up with the Mexican casserole that came with salad and soup. All of it was amazingly good. Others had the lasagna, quiche, taco salad, and bean burrito. All of us loved our food. The environment was so different than what we are used to being from the Southwest states. If you are looking for a new dining experience, this is the place to go.Food & drinks: This is a vegetarian place with gluten free and vegan options.

I am giving this place a 5 star. This is a hidden gem in the community. With its unique artist gift shop, eclectic healthy dining and walking garden. This is a must visit if you're in the Volcano area. Make sure to take time to eat a homemade apple pie.

Cafe Ono wasn't just lunch - it was an experience. The food was solid (healthy & plant-based, so make sure your carnivores are prepared), but the desserts were divine. The birders and gardeners in your life will swoon over the patio, and secret garden trail. With small kids, we appreciated the open space and "touch please" art offerings.

Such a beautiful and incredible little spot with delicious vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free food. We enjoyed our meal out in the garden with beautiful birds and plants. The service was wonderful, even the owner was walking around and chatting with those out in the garden. Will 100% be coming back. Definitely a place you’ll want to stop, relax and have a bite in your travels.Food & drinks: Good was delicious and very accompanying for our dietary needs.

This place is a hidden gem! Our food was delicious (love the lasagna), not over priced, and eating in the garden is great. If you go to volcano National park, drop down here (5 min drive) for lunch then head back to the park to keep hiking (your park pass lasts 7 days). The staff and owner are very nice!Great for gluten free (gf) and vegetarian/vegan.
