We stayed for two nights in November 23 and loved it. Had the only room upstairs and liked our view towards the trees. Very quiet and the beds were the most comfortable ones we had during our month in Hawaii. Sarah is a great host, the breakfast every morning was really good. We should've stayed longer.

Had a great time staying at Lava Pond Lodge at Sarah’s. The rooms were clean and tidy and Sarah made us feel right at home with her morning breakfast of papaya boats and home made muffins etc. The lodge is conveniently located 10minutes from the Volcanos making it super easy to get there early in the morning before the crowd and heat. Sarah is super sweet and took time to provide us with helpful tips for the spots to check nearby.I’d highly recommend staying here and I myself would be back soon!Nearby activities: Volcano

Beautifully nestled into a rainforest near Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, with clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed talking to Sarah. We would happily stay here again.

We had the very best vacation ever staying with Sarah at Lava Pond Lodge! First off, the lodge is incredibly close to the entrance for Volcanoes National Park. We were able to leave the lodge and be at the main gate in about ten minutes. The convenience was great for beating the crowds into the Park in the mornings. After exploring the Park, we were totally craving our return to this wonderful sanctuary. Tucked away in a beautiful rainforest, the lodge is absolutely gorgeous. Both our room (the Orchid) and the common areas were decorated with care and an eye towards making every room seem welcoming and relaxing. Fresh chocolate chip cookies, snacks, bottled water, tea and coffee awaited us whenever we came into the lodge, and the breakfast each day was fabulous. My husband is a fussy eater, especially at breakfast. Not only did Sarah not get annoyed, but she kept offering him alternatives until she found something he liked. I suffer from chronic leg and back pain, but the lovely hot tub allowed me to soak much of the pain away at the end of each busy day, enabling me to do and see more in the Park than I might have otherwise. Sarah was wonderfully accommodating and such a pleasure to talk story with. She had lots of tips and suggestions to make our visit more memorable, and is a wealth of knowledge about the Park and the surrounding area. AND THE BED! Sheer heaven. We slept far better than we ever do at home. The mattress cradled us and supported us perfectly, and the linens were of excellent quality, soft and silky with just the right heft. Sarah, we are so very glad we made the choice to stay with you! The Park was great, but you and your sweet lodge totally made our vacation. Mahalo nui loa, until we meet again!

Conveniently located by the Volcano National Park. Room was clean/stocked and the host was great. Breakfast consists of various meals; quiche fresh from the market (Sunday), English muffin breakfast sandwich, and always a fresh papaya bowl. Didn’t use it but there is a grill and hot tub available for use as well.Stay here for a great BnB next to the park.

Stayed here and was lucky National Park just got reopened after the eruption.Very quiet and we were the only guest. Host was extremely friendly and served us good breakfast and provided tips on where to go in the National Park. Ask about the nearby sandwich bar serving massive sandwiches.
