Absolutely 10 out of 10 utterly and completely stunning. John, the owner, builder and host has done a magnificent job on this amazingly aesthetic place. I've stayed in quite a lot of hotels and resorts around the world and very few have impressed me like this. It's a small privately owned and well hidden gem within the rainforest around Kilauea. It's extremely close to the entrance of the Volcano National Park, so if you're planning on visiting the Volcano I very highly recommend this place. Each room has giant Jacuzzi tubs, beautiful marble tile showers, vaulted wooden ceilings, all the amenities you could ever need. You really can feel the love that John has put into this place. He's poured his heart and soul into it. The Garden is magnanimous, the architecture and woodwork is incredible, especially when you realize it's all been done by mostly one man. Each room has its own beautiful wooden deck out front and a stone patio on the back end. My wife actually picked this spot out after many hours of deliberation. She's the artist between the two of us and has high standards for beauty, design and aesthetics. If you end up staying here I guarantee you'll be as blown away as I was! Thankyou John for your amazing work!

This place is a treasure! We hate the hustle and bustle of hotels and resorts. This place is magical, healing and beautiful. It's very hard to leave. This may be a 3 star B&B but it feels like 4 star. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is your place. We stayed in the White Lotus Suite which was beautifully appointed and had spectacular views of the forest. We will be back for sure!

It’s a beautiful and well maintained place, super close to the volcano national park. It was exactly how we hoped it to be. We stayed in the White Lotus Lodge and it’s even nicer than showing on the pictures. There are great recommendations of what to see and explore in the rooms and the restaurants in the area are also nice. The breakfast in the room is always a surprise and always really good.Thank you for having us :)

Great stay! Really comfortable bed and breakfast was great! We stayed in the front, Aloha Moon suite which was great. The bathroom was so nice, seemed newly renovated. Because this room was at the front it didn’t have as great a view as the other rooms since it was above the garage and looked out to the driveway. It did, however, have plenty of privacy, especially for the bathtub, and the balcony was only for our room, so no other guests would be walking by or peering in.

We had a great experience staying here. Breakfast was different every morning and excellent every time. Rooms are very nice, and very quiet and private. This is an excellent place to unwind after a long day. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Location is off the beaten path a bit, but we were specifically looking for a quiet pace with plenty of privacy, and that's exactly what you get here.

if you are looking for a luxurious and romantic place to stay as a couple near Hawaii Volcano National Park, this is the place to stay! this is probably the top 5 places i've stayed at and wish I stayed here for more than one night. We got the White Lotus Suite and it was such a treat, the bathroom had a 2-person tub, double shower, and it felt so luxurious. The cottages are really tucked away but that's what makes it feel so special, serene, and quiet. The owner really thought of everything when he built these cottages. A nice touch is the breakfast they provide and you get to eat outside on the patio with the rainforest views. This is so worth the stay! And it's only a 10-min drive to the park.

Beautiful place close to Volcanos Nat. park. Immaculately clean, decorated beautifully. Great breakfast, everything you need for a pleasant stay.Only minus is the location of our room was situated where passerbys could just look right into our room. We felt as though we needed to keep the blinds shut at all times for privacy, and what a shame because the lush green views are amazing. Better to stay in one of the corner rooms.

What a beautiful luxurious and romantic place to stay in Volcano. Don't think twice about booking this spot, you won't regret it! We stayed in the white lotus suite and this suite was 5-Star hotel material if not better. We loved everything about it: the king size bed, private parking, views of the rainforest from inside with all the glass windows, breakfast is provided, full jacuzzi bathtub that comes with bath salts and bubbles, double shower, double sinks, heat lamp above tub, and access to private patio to enjoy breakfast with a view. I would go back here in a heartbeat next time I come to visit. The owner is very sweet and you can tell that he is very attentive and thoughtful when it comes to the rooms that he builds himself.

Lush plants, tranquil environment, relaxing vibe, if these are what you’re looking for, don’t miss this cottage! We stayed at Aloha moon for 3 nights and we absolutely love every bit of it. The room is spacious enough to have a bedroom, living room area (you can have free main streaming platforms account), a kitchenette(fridge, microwave, dishes, mugs) and the highlight: bathroom. The bathroom has the best jacuzzi I’ve ever seen. Taking a bath with lush rainforest view is the ultimate self care package one can ask for. Meanwhile it also has double bath, double standing showering with great airflow. We also love our breakfast varieties everyday. During our stay, we had quiche, Mexican wrap, almond croissants, walnut cake, lemon cake, orange and guava juice and sorted fresh fruits. I sincerely want to recommend this place to the whole world and I wish I could come back to the big island and stay here again in the future!

We loved our 3 night stay at Lotus Garden Cottages. It truly feels like a remote getaway, surrounded by nothing but the sound of birds, raindrops, and the coqui frogs. The host was so helpful and friendly and the check in and check out process could not be easier. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The bed and sheets felt cozy and luxurious. The jacuzzi is also amazing after a long day of exploring. We cannot recommend this BnB enough!!!

Amazing in every way! We had the most magical four day adventure and loved everything about our stay in the Rising Moon suite. John is the most gracious of hosts and went out of his way with so many thoughtful touches. The breakfasts were different every day and so very delicious. The soaking bath tub was such a welcome treat after long days adventuring. Highly recommend this little slice of paradise!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Lotus Garden Cottages, located just a few minutes from Volcanoes National Park. Our room was immaculate and beautifully designed. The atmosphere is warm and peaceful. John is a great host - very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful, remote, quaint, charming, serene. John built (and continues to build) a mini-paradise in the middle of nowhere. There's not much to do in the town of Volcano and the town of Hilo (still 45 minutes away) also leaves a lot to be desired. If you want to hike Volcanoes National Park for a few days or just get away from it all, this is the place to do it. Bring your desired food and entertainment. You'll be provided an ample and healthy breakfast but besides that you'll have to forage. We nonetheless had a wonderful time.

Beautiful and serene setting, impeccable room and bathroom. The attention to detail was impressive! We slept with the door open so we could hear all the rainforest night sounds! The breakfast was amazing and John was helpful, knowledgeable and great! I will recommend this to anyone traveling to this area, if we come back here, we would only stay here !

We had a lovely experience in the cottage! John has been very accommodating and the service provided has been excellent. Our cottage (Aloha Moon) was perfect, fully equipped with all items needed in the kitchen, we really felt like home! The breakfast plates are prepared with so much care ? and we really appreciate that each day they were slightly different (with local fruits, sweet pastry, quiche …).Our cottage has a lovely fireplaces to keep the space warm at night and a lovely bathroom with a shower & jacuzzi. It was very clean and also there a folder with all the information and maps related to the volcano park, restaurants menus…The cottages are easily to find, well collated close to the Volcano park, restaurants, grocery store …The 1st day we arrived there where a storm so no wifi. We enjoyed reading some books that were in the cottage and playing some table games. As of the 2nd day, internet worked perfectly and the TV even has Neflix.
