Stopped by this store a few times when we were visiting. Everyone was always super nice and it's in better shape than the general store down the road.

If you visit this store be aware…it so expensive and overpriced, you would be paying almost double on some items…if you are on tight budget you should stay way from that establishment, very limited selection too…

I shop at the general store, the staff is great. Some prices are really decent others are high, I can't afford the soil here vs Home Depot, but a lot of the food items are very reasonable to restock or make a spontaneous meal without driving far. I like taking my kids here because they have a great variety of things, so it's fun for me to look around with them at the different ways they could spend money like markers vs candy vs chips vs little souvenirs. A lot of times I can pick up medicine or school supplies I need to refill without a long trip to Hilo. ?

Some items is very expensive in True Value store. Not recommend to buy dog or cat food there. But as groceries prices not so bad, especially its the one of the 3 stores around.Nice and friendly stuff.A lot of choices of ice creams, sodas, beers, snacks, household items.

This is a great little one-stop-shop on the way to the Volcanoes National Park. PS Lily was super helpful and has the most amazing hair.

Should’ve be listed as a grocery store too, it offered most essentials for my stay in the volcano village with fair prices

Hardward store/general store in Volcano. Good place to get basic supplies if you don't want to drive all the way to Keau or Hilo. Also convenient hours as other businesses in the area have limited open times. On the general store side (front of the store), there are several shelves of canned goods, cookies, candies and other snacks. They also had bottled water, etc. There are also refrigerated and frozen food cases with milk, juice, ice cream, frozen pizza, etc. There is a also a pretty sizable selection of souvenirs. Convenient for the many visitors/tourists in the area. We didn't spend much time on the hardware side. We actually came looking for some firewood, but it looked well stocked with basic hardware items - like paints, tools, etc. Interestingly, the glass case at the front register was filled with smoking paraphernalia for those who are so inclined. Definitely a one-stop-shop for your smoking, snaking, gifting and fixing needs!

Family owned & operated franchise, who run a clean store. A little difficult to locate if you dont know where its at already. Only becuz its in the very back all the way behind the restaurant & laundry mat. The building almost looks like a hotel or apartments, but there is a large sign that says True Value Ace Hardware above the entrance. They are also a mini market or what I would call a convenience grocery. They keep a small range of refrigerated foods like cheeses, milk & cream, processed meats, eggs, juices & soft drinks. For dry goods you'll find bread, pastries, cereal & breakfast stuff, can goods, candy, gums, chips, & a variety of pre-packaged dried meats. Along with the basic materials from a hardware store, they carry some survival & wet weather gear. You'll be able to pick up many different sizes of batteries, firewood, rain jackets, bags of ice & other kinds of merch. I think they also keep pet foods in stock at this store. E Finally, as you go to checkout & pay the super friendly staff you come across a series of glass display cases. Inside those cases take notice of the different kinds of rolling tobacco, papers, pipes, water pipes, lighters & butane refill cans. They a have a nice selection )of tobacco products equivalent to a mini smoke shop. Like I said before- friendly & welcoming staff who strive to treat each customer with the kind of value & aloha as their own families. Truly incredible store experience becuz of the efforts from the dilligent & dedicated staff at this store.

The only place in Volcano that displays prices on items. It has a bathroom in the store for customers, also a rarity in Volcano. The only place I shop for snacks in town.

It's more of a convenience store with hardware also. But that's not a bad thing, just wish they stocked more hardware.
