For the special people in my life, this is where I shop. The owner,Ira Ono is a very talented artist and exhibits his art in the shop. The grounds are beautiful, with artistic cottages you can rent, There is a cafe to enjoy homemade fare and a large selection of teas while you shop for unique gifts made locally and from afar. When you explore Volcano National Park, be sure to finish your journey here.

What a magical jewel in Volcano! A combination of art gallery, a wonderful vegetarian restaurant with garden seating, and beautiful grounds to wander through with artful touches scattered throughout. Check out the secret garden through the back gate, try a fresh panini or dessert, and buy a locally crafted work of art on your way out. Loved it all!

Mr. Ira Ono greeted us with his sweet smile and gentle soul! The two ladies with him were super sweet as well. For the small size of this gallery, they have an amazingly wide variety of lovely pieces of Hawaiian art, including many of Mr. Ira’s own work. We shared our love of chinoiserie with him and he pointed out several pieces that we enjoyed discussing with him. Don’t miss the back yard and tree sanctuary!

This oasis is a delight. The grounds are a spiritual experience. To be able to roam the gardens, taking in all of the beauty and dedication that it entails, is an experience not to be missed. Be sure to visit the garden though the back gate- it can replenish your soul. And the community that makes up the team here is absolutely genuine and welcoming. And we ate a terrific meal and found many great gifts at the gallery! I am full of gratitude for Ira and his team for creating this beauty and sharing it with us.

Ira Ono is the caretaker of this garden estate, its art gallery, weekend cafe, and air bnb cottage. He is also a passionate artist, evident in this beautiful gem of a place.I am amazed at Ira's unflagging creativity, plethora of art and eye candy collected from local artists and his own travels, and most of all, his warm hospitality. The place can get really busy, especially on weekends when the cafe (delicious food) is open. It's a good place for lunch, and take lots of time to enjoy and shop in the gallery!

We visited the Volcano Arts and Cafe while on the Volcanoes & Tastes of Hawaii excursion from our Norwegian Pride of America Cruise ship. We loved the food, the wine, the gardens, and the shop. The owner Ira Ono is very friendly and a great artist. We would have loved to spend more time there.

A truly unique sanctuary tucked along the side of Old Volcano Rd, completely expressing Ira's warm, artistic and open personality. Be sure to check out the tree sanctuary, which - although simple - was literally one of my favorite places on the island because of how unexpectedly peaceful and lovely it was. And don't forget to say hi to the big New Zealand bunnies!

Ira Ono the owner of this business is a first rate guy. My daughter (who is vegan) and I went to his Cafe Ono last Sunday, and I was impressed with the level of dedication Mr. Ono had to his business as well as his customers. He alone is worth the visit, but his personnel match his passion by cooking incredibly delicious vegetarian meals. I am not a vegetarian, but enjoyed my daughter's artichoke sandwich with hummus. Please, if you come to Volcanoes National Park, support this business. I have no special interest of any kind, I am writing this primarily because of the hospitality that Mr. Ono provides.

Aloha I recently relocated to Volcano and word around the town was to visit the Volcano Garden Arts Sancturay of Ira Ono. So, I did! I was enchanted by the mystical gardens and places to creatively play and hear children's laughter echo. This is not just a "tourist destination", it's a local artistic hub for creative individuals to come together and play like children laughing. After meeting Ira Ono, I was invited to participate in the community writer's group. I could not have felt more welcomed into the Volcano community. It's hard relocating. I called upon Pablo Neruda and "lifted up my roots" seeking a place to root again. Ira's hub of creative people of all kinds (culinary included) is helping me establish my roots in Volcano. This is truly a place of enchantment both for tourists and locals. A glimpse of true Hawaiian creative community. Thank You Ira Ono. Mahalo, Vittorio...
