Volcano Golf Course is hands down the best course on this side of the island. It has the best greens, fairways and climate, and the staff are so accommodating and go the extra mile to make golfers have a great time. The views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are amazing. Because it is at 4,000ft elevation, the ball goes farther; make sure to account for that. The course is a fun place to play golf on the Big Island. It is not fancy and not the best groomed, but it is playable for any level. The greens were a bit rough, but the weather was perfect and the staff had a SMILE. Guests enjoyed mini golfing, Trunk or Treat, and healthy snack options. The winery is just down the road. The course is nice with reasonable green fees, and many recommend it 10/10.
David is the man! I brought my wife here for her first round of golf as an adult, what a cooler place than a volcano to restart a career. She had a blast and no small part thanks to his hospitality. 10 stars for the vibes. Rental club quality was also fantastic.

Great experience with staff, Kaile was so helpful. The golf course looks fabulous for being right across the street from an active volcano. We played the course on Friday and it was a really fun course to play. Staff was very accommodating and friendly, shout out to David. Course layout was perfect for us. Played at a leisurely pace, and didn't feel rushed at all. We will definitely play again next time we are on the Big Island!
