Cozy place with friendly personal. Set in a rainforest very close to the Volcanoes Natl Park. The opposite of the busy impersonal hotels of the Kihei shore.

My favorite place we stayed during our visit to Big Island! Beautiful, eco-friendly, modern accommodations, friendly staff and a tasty breakfast.

If you are visiting Volcanoes National Park, then look no further for your accommodation. This place is 5 minutes drive from the National Park entrance. It is located amidst the rainforest, providing great views from the room and soothing chirping of birds all the time. You will feel that you are in nature ? The owner is one of the sweetest persons we have ever met. There was an issue with the room that we booked. We reported it to the owner late at night and she provided us with an upgraded room. She even came to the property to help us move to the new room. ? They also have a 24/7 hot tub. And to top this all, their delicious island style complimentary breakfast with freshly baked banana bread is so delicious ? 10/10 to this place. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Seriously loved it here. It’s quaint and cozy. The staff are fun, the security guy and Tabby are extremely friendly & well informed. Breakfast is always lovely to have… especially with the lower prices. Other places wanted to charge $300 a night for a basic room! Volcano Inn is way less than that. There’s so breathtaking foliage on the property and oh so close to The National Park!Rooms: Queen sized bed, full private bath. Feels like staying at your grandmothers house as a kid. It’s cozy and you can feel the love.Nearby activities: Hikes, bike rentals, walking tours, restaurants, art studios, and so much food!Safety: Tabby told us that they had to cat burglars in a year… actual cats ? ?⬛. Lol everyone is so friendly and vigilant, there’s no little to no crime in general, and nothing witnessed while we stayed.Walkability: No side walks but if you’re within the village everyone walks or bikes. It’s beautiful to see and greet the locals out on their morning jogs. Even dog walkers, horse riders, and bicyclists can be greeted.Food & drinks: Breakfast is delicious. They also provide an informative pamphlet to the surrounding area with local stores and restaurants.Noteworthy details: Clean, cozy. Relaxing hot tub, common space with spending some time in. Private baths!

So close to the entrance of the park. Rooms were gorgeous, and while I was worried about the lack of AC the open windows made it plenty cool enough. The breakfast is worth the short walk to the lobby. Careful at night finding the driveway, it is super

the room was very damp, and dehumidifier doesn't work at all, I have to empty the water tank to start it.There was no place for your stuff. Humid air makes clothes smelly, and the floor was also damp!the bed was uncomfortable. But the breakfast was good. anyway, still a bad experience stay there

If you are looking for a place to stay with rustic, vintage Hawaiii charm then this is a great choice. If you prefer a modern hotel experience you will probably be disappointed. One of the best features is that you really feel nestled into a rainforest. When we were there there Coqui frogs were singing at night. I thought it lulled me to sleep but others in my family said it kept them up. They do serve breakfast and their was a Thai food truck (Tuk Tuk) right next door that served some fresh and tasty options. We tried the fried banana Lumpia and the Green Papaya Salad and I can recommend them both. Also it is so close and convenient to visit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We would definitely consider staying here again if we find ourselves in the area.

Just got back from a 9 day honeymoon on the island, with 3 nights staying here.Loved the remoteness of the location. Loved the breakfast and can't Wait to try the banana bread recipe I bought! Was super greatful for the hot tub (I'm recovering from a fractured foot and enjoyed the soak). Staff and owner were incredibly friendly.Loved the sounds of the coqui frogs at night. I know, nothing specifically to do with the inn, but nice to fall asleep to.Would have liked a small fan in the room, but at least it cooled off late into the night. Pillows and bed were a little uncomfortable for me, but great for my husband.Location is great if your plans involve the national park or even time in Hilo. All in in, very glad we stayed and would love to return!

loved it here. Tabi is great fun. I enjoyed the staff and the breakfast. There's a few nice little trails around the place and we highly advise you to bring a jacket.

Very cute hotel in the perfect location to see Volcano National Park and hike Moana Kea. Spent two nights here, we arrived late the first night and the after hours check in was simple, the frogs at night are so loud it was a really cool experience walking across the parking lot to our room. The breakfast in the morning had the most delicious banana bread I’ve ever had! The wifi works great if you are working remotely. Volcano National Park is minutes away. Also, we hiked Moana Kea and using the hot tub that night felt great. Super cute, relaxing location. Felt like we went back in time to a fairy land. Highly recommend.

Stayed here in Jul 2023 to visit Volcanos. Communication with Tabby was so prompt, clear and warm. Such aloha in this lovely inn, with lush gardens and interiors. Dani the staff on duty was friendly. Breakfast was simple (Banana bread was delish). Definitely recommend this inn when visiting Volcanos.-the RV people :)

Cute little place that feels like a BnB. It was clean and while the room wasn’t large, you are probably coming for the national park. Amazing view of the foliage in their breakfast area. We’d like to stay here again next time we visit. The breakfast is fresh and amazing. They had wifi too.Noteworthy details: Great fresh papaya and banana bread breakfast!

It seems like an older building but you can tell that they keep things pretty clean. Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly. I didn't think I liked papaya but Hawaiian papaya is very delicious, especially with all of the toppings. They changed my mind! The banana bread was delicious, too. We felt more at home than at a hotel while we stayed there. Some things did need a bit of a refresh but overall we really enjoyed our stay.
