We showed up to see if we wanted to rent 40 rooms and hold a wedding there. The wedding lawn, and reception area are open to the public, plus a thousand or so guests. The pool is right next to it and if you stay longer than 15 minutes they bill you to park your car there AND expect you to tip their car hops. It's not worth the inflated price to even park and discuss spending a half million dollars. Don't waste your time.

Update, just stayed again March 2024 OMGWe lived on Maui 2000 - 2019Our favorite thing to do was bring quests & family to the Grand Wailea for a fun treat! We no longer live on the Island but we still visit Maui yearly - always stay at the Grand Wailea a for a time. Our last visit was quite unusual we sent a motorcycle over from San Diego to enjoy our time here for 5 weeks.A few nights at Napua Towers yay!As my husband drove up the valet yelled at him - "you cannot park that here!"We were alarned but kept our cool my husband says that's ok I just need to drop off my wife. I will self park.During our stay we noticed many things not up to the standards of the Grand Wailea. No fresh flower leis at greeting. No aloha accommodating valetNo fresh lemon water w fresh flowers at check in.Towels like ragsNo special soaps or shampoosTo sit on the beach you share with timeshare ppl. U have to schedule a beach time to sit in chairs w umbrella. As we were leaving, walking to the parking garage we noticed a man (possibly security)Following us very closely. I turned to the side and said " you must be in a hurry please go ahead"He turned back towards us & says " you owe $45 a day for parking, we do not have free parking here!"We excused ourselves if we had broken any of the rules. Motorcycles cannot receive valet parking you simply must park yourself. We took the furthest back open space away from anyone. We apologized & said we would be sure to cooperate next visit.First and last impression are important! They were not Good this visit!!!While there we made reservations for our next visit while we were here. Our next visit was a Family Cabana only for the dayWe rented the one we wanted #13The day we checked in we were told no we could not receive #13 we would have to take #12. I was unhappy because I had been told it was available & I was there at 7 am to claim it.Nobody went to cabana # 13 all day - we were lied to.As the afternoon went on we were thirsty, nobody comes around to fill up your water or show you where water fill stations are. About 3:00 I took 2 waters from cabana #13 our original cabana nobody ever checked in to, where nobody had checked in !!!I soon had a loud tattoood man yelling at me " I see u stealing the water! Those waters cost $8. I quickly handed them back to him to calm him down.Shoooooweeeeee that was embarrassing. How about a calm voice saying ' you will see a charge for those extra 2 waters or you can fill yours up over here.'The next day we rented a Fairmont Kea Lani Cabana. We were brought unlimited waters & sodas & snacks all day. It was a calm relaxing beautiful day.We will be with the Fairmont Kea Lani now. Bye Bye Grand Wailea it's been a good run but man it is OVER.The parking ordeal & the stealing waters after paying $1700 for the cabana?Goodbye we found something better.

One of the best resorts on Ultra high end Wailea side of Maui. It's huge and has great energy and services was really nice. There were hipcups with security box but the made it up for us with free breakfast and that was very nice of them. The pools were good variety and Beach was easy access. Only complaint is that you need to order beach chair at the 2 stations near the pools before 3 pm else it's considered closed. You can't just walk to beach and order them either. It's a lot of hassle when people are paying $1000 a night to be there. I didn't really tried the main restaurant here, because they are renovating and review say they are not worth it so I skipped them. But plantey of options out there, just a short Uber ride away. I had a poke bowl at the pool and the rice was hard... And they just brought me more rice, but I think they should have replaced the whole thing. I waited like 15 min for people to come help me.

I am very disappointed in the Grand Wailea. I am scheduled to stay here in April and I was notified today that their buffet at Ikena is unavailable the entire month of April 2024. I booked this stay with 330k points in August and I just now find out about this. They have been horrible about getting back to me and answering my calls. Shameful really. So warning to anyone coming in April 2024 - no buffet offered, just a la carte. Luckily, their website doesn't say this anywhere so I would check if you are planning on eating the buffet.

Pros - Great ocean view rooms.- Beach is small but good- Property is 5 star level with pools- Lots of cool spots to click pics.- Front desk and room service is good.- Koi pond is a good touch next to rooms.- Rooms are spacious and family friendly.Great for couples.Cons - Housekeeping folks knick <$20 items.Went without housekeeping after that.- Very strict on late checkout- New coffee machines don't get enough coffee pods.We didnt have one for 2/5 days.Rest was decaf for 1 person.- No sunscreen or easily present bottle refill stations.- Attention to detail is missing everywhere due to focus on quantity over quality.- They don't provide basic things in the room like toothpaste, you have to request every single thing and the staff is not pleased if you don't tip for this.- Concierge does not give info about amenities or facilities so have to know by yourself, we got to know at the end of our trip that they have shuttles to anywhere in Wailea.- Big TV but no way to get Netflix etc, they want to upcharge you for movies etc.Almost useless features tech wise.Overall for the price it's a big disappointment but the views are great, lots of options in this area so next time id stay elsewhere even if you have status.

Was a fun resort. Had plenty of things to do without even leaving the resort.Rooms: Our room was great. Had a nice view of the ocean.Food & drinks: Food and drinks were pretty standard for bar food. For their nicer dinners and breakfasts the food was plentiful and delicious.
