Quite frankly it was one of the best dining experiences of my life. I'm so, so, SO sorry I don't remember our server's name because she was incredible—so welcoming, so helpful, so wonderful. The service from the whole staff was beautiful. And the hospitality of giving me a little card, a message in chocolate on my dessert, and bubbles for our table for my birthday was so special and appreciated!!As for the food. My god. I will dream of this meal for the rest of my life. It has only been 24 hours and we've already reminisced about it approximately seven times. Everything was perfect. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best anniversary dinner ever. Try to come when it's sunset time.

Wonderful experience! Service, food and atmosphere were all exceptional. Chef went above and beyond to accommodate dietary needs. Highly recommend.

Great creative Chef.... Food and service was excellent. Good Wine list, however I have my cellar favorites and their $95 per bottle corkage fee is not a good experience as well as their Screaming Eagle is overpriced for any restaurant, just sayin.

We had a fantastic Anniversary dinner! They went above and beyond to give us a beautiful view of the ocean and the food was amazing! The dessert and champagne was amazing as well! It's a special spot for sure!

We've been here four times. Every other time was a delight. It pains me to leave 3 stars this time but here is why:We had a 6pm drinks and 7pm dinner reservation. We didn't get our drinks until 645. We were seated at 7, but didn't get our first course until 830 (I got the ahi crudo, which was delicious). Second course didn't come until 935. I ordered the ribeye for my second course. I asked for it medium rare but made it clear I wanted it cooked and not rare. It came and was rare. By this point I didn't want to wait any longer as it was getting late but when spending >$300/person for dinner, the wait staff needs to convey this stuff to the kitchen. Side rant: kitchens need to knock it off with this weird fetish for undercooking a steak. Medium rare is a pretty easy thing for me to achieve at home why can't one of the best regarded kitchens on Maui do this? Finally we had several bottles of wine, but one was simply terrible. I don't think it was spoiled, just not good. The waitress was a 20-something who didn't know wine. I'm not sure why this bottle was even in the menu, but she obviously was not going to help steer us to a better bottle. It was comped in the end since we didn't drink any of it thankfully. But I expect every single bottle to be amazing at a place like this. This place used to be better.

Eaten at lots of wonderful places this vacation but felt the price fixe dinner was $20-30 too high at $140pp for appetizer, entree and dessert. The food we did have was delicious and atmosphere great too but the appetizers were on the smaller side. Dessert was very good but not excellent. At this price point would you ever order chicken or a mushroom entree or eggplant entree?Yet there they were, something for everyone. This would have been a better menu if it was priced a la carte. That way the chicken enthusiasts and vegetarians would not feel like they were supplementing the lobster diner's dinners.

Ambiance nice in the “Birdcage” but food was lukewarm and service terrible. Went for breakfast and ordered one coffee which never arrived and 2 eggs benny (one regular and one crab cake). In fact our original server never returned to our table after taking our food order. Once the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best and nobody came to check on us at all (though it was tasty). There were some mixups in the kitchen apparently as someone came by to confirm our orders and we overheard about mixups, confusion and apologies at the table next to us. I'm glad we just went for breakfast instead of the dinner we were originally planning. This was disappointing as we'd been wanting to try it for a while.

Many thanks to the talented staff, front and back of house, for a perfect evening for the four of us in the garden. From the cocktails to the amazing wine list, from the starters, to the mains, to the desserts, it was all perfection. We absolutely love this restaurant and will return.

The food here is amazing, the service is great, and the view is spectacular. However, the restaurant has an unfortunate layout facing into the trade winds that makes it as if you are dining in front of a fan the ENTIRE TIME. We had to keep our glasses on the napkins and menus, and held wine glasses at all times, to keep everything from flying away. It was noisy, despite no one talking loudly. It even felt cold because of the effect of the blowing wind. Since the entire restaurant is effectively outside with a roof, there was nowhere to retreat to. Good luck!

Not sure what was going on. I'll say everyone was nice and working hard, but it was clear they were short staffed and inexperienced.$100 caviar blinis were drowning in olive oil, gnocchi was flavlorless, couple mains got to our table cold.Honestly the experience at half the price would have been fine. But $700 dinners need to hit a lot higher.

We were extremely disappointed this year, as we had a much better experience last year. Although the restaurant is beautiful, and the service was very good , food was very disappointing all round . This one “stung”. We do not recommend

Atmosphere outside was phenomenal. Service was good but not super attentive. Food had some stars and some not-so-good things about it. Overall a 4 is about right, but note the price is quite high for this experience as well (200pp+ for us including alcohol). They accommodated celiac/gluten free requirements decently from what I could tell.

We apparently dined at different restaurant! We had 5:45 reservations and figured 2 1/2 hours would be plenty. We ordered wine, one featured as a special. They must have had to pick the grapes as when the server finally came back with the wine, he said they “couldn’t find the bottle”, his exact words. What?!? The first course came and went. It was good but certainly not stellar. Then we waited and waited. At 7:15 I asked what was going on as the table next to us had arrived at the same time and were on dessert. Our server said our entree was “just being plated up”. It was a good 10 minutes. I had ordered the lobster which was cold and my dining companion the chicken which was piping hot. Translation: our order had been forgotten. They made no attempt to rectify the situation or even freshen my tea. Dessert was good but not great. Time was now becoming an issue. What was even worse is the restaurant wasn’t full and there was plentiful staff. I handed the waiter my credit card the moment he brought the check. We shared a ride back to our hotel with people from the nearby table. One said the lobster seemed tough and no one thought the food wasn’t worth the money.I’ve been fortunate enough to have some amazing dining experiences that were also expensive but the food and service was worth it. The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea isn’t one of them.
