Every single ukulele I’ve ever had is from Mele Ukulele. This is strictly the only place I’d ever trust to buy ukuleles from. From customer service to product everything is top-notch. Best in the business hands down!

Went to the store in Wailea and got to talk shop with one of the managers. Neat little place and extremely friendly. It's not every day you come across a store that sells their own instruments. I eventually went back and bought a Koa Guitarlele!

One of the best experiences I had when I was in Hawaii! I came here to buy a ukelele for my brother and as someone who had no cultural background or knowledge of ukelele's I was pretty stumped on what to buy. Luckily, I was greeted by Arlie! Not only did he educate us about ukelele's, but he also showed us how talented he was with them! He showed us the different tones that each wood gives and introducing us to Koa, a wood only from Hawaii! He also taught us the different sizes of ukelele's and gave us good recommendations on what my brother would like. These ukelele's are handmade and excellent quality, so of course they would be higher-priced, but honestly, I think that their prices reflect the dedication and love they have for their craft and their culture, so I'm 100% down to support it. After hearing his recommendations, I finally decided to buy a mahoganey which was priced at $300. We came back home in San Francisco and finally gave it to my brother on his birthday. He was speechless and stunned when he first opened it. Thank you Arlie for helping me give my little brother the best gift he's ever received. He'll take great care of it!

Went here a few weeks ago to possibly get another Uke, but the prices were a little more than I wanted to spend. The lady there showed me some amazing pieces and was very helpful. I fell in love with one she showed me, but I wasn't ready to spend $500. I slept on it, and the next morning I went back to take another look and see if there was anything else a little cheaper. There was a different person working this time, I don't remember his name though. The first thing he showed me was that same Uku I was looking at the day before. He was also very helpful and explained the differences and why some are so high in cost. I ended up purchasing and he gave me a discount on a bag as well. He was super helpful, and friendly. I would recommend coming here if you're looking for a quality Uke. It's was also cool to hear him play!

I had bought a Ukulele from Mele in Wailuku about 15 years ago and was very happy with my purchase. Decided to drop in again on my trip in August 2022 and was helped by Annie. She was very helpful, friendly and knew a lot about what she was selling. Ended up buying another one and had it shipped to me. Look forward to getting it. They have a great selection and something for every budget. Prices are reasonable. They now have three locations in Maui. Same owners for 28 years I believe. They are Ukulele experts and the Wailuku store is their original store.

We visited the Paia location and Annie made our experience one of the best memories from my niece's stay on Maui. What a special person to assist us in acquiring a family heirloom. Wonderful selection and service. MAHALO Mele Ukulele and Annie. We appreciate you.

Do yourself a favor and go to the original store. This place is ukulele paradise. The salespeople are absolute experts, not to mention their friendly service. I own four ukes and my Mele is BY FAR my favorite…the sound is immensely superior. I just love this place.

I stopped by the Wailuku store and checked out the beautiful Mele Ukuleles. I didn't end up purchasing anything, but met the owner and she told me about the history of the store and answered any questions I had. The young man working there (Skylar IIRC) was helpful and played the different ukuleles I was interested in so I could hear the sound from someone who could actually play well. (I cannot)Will definitely be back to buy one on my next visit to Maui. (BTW, the Paia store is larger and also very good)

I bought a Koa Tenor and a Mango double hole Concert ukelele. I love how both distinct sounds they produce. Hand carried the Tenor back to Chicago and had them ship the concert. Shipment was quick and packaging was good that I received my ukulele in perfect shape.Mahalo very much Annie Tran, Arlie Asiu (greatest uke teacher ?) , Mike and Cheryl Rock(owners) for the hospitality and service.

I was excited to buy a nice ukulele for once. I spent $400 thinking the ukulele I bought would be great. The same day I bought it, without any chance to play, the peg broke. I asked if it could get it fixed by the time my flight left, and they did. When I went to pick it up they made me wait a half hour even though my ukulele was sitting right there. I asked if there was any way I could either get my money back, get a new ukulele, or if they could check to see that none of the other pegs would break. I'm writing this because they responded with oh no you're peg won't break again, that's super rare. But Im back home now and just had a second peg break, different peg from the first one that broke. I am a very kind and patient person but I do not appreciate this kind of service and I hope there is some way they can reconcile for an absurd amount of money paid for a low quality instrument.
