I love this place. It's an institution of the town. The owner has always been pleasant to deal with in my experience, and if people have problems with her they should check their own manners and behavior in her store instead of criticizing her.

I have always loved this store! Great cooking tools. And the owner is a gem!

The open sign is lit up and the screen door is open, but the other door is locked. We also checked the hours before we came, so we were confused by the mixed signals the store was giving. By peeping through the front window, it doesn't look like there is much crackseed type snacks for sale either. Save your time and money honestly.

OMG. BEST little shop around. We found a really cool ‘Live Aloha’ license plate to take back home. So many cool things. And Auntie who runs it was so cool and lovely to speak with!!!! Respect is a two way street!!! ?

This lady sold me some "Hawaiian necklace." Looked it up on etsy and behold, it was a fraction of the cost I paid. She claimed it was carved on the island by an artist. Total scam.

Anyone complaining about this place doesn’t understand what this place is. This place has been around for around 30 years and is still going strong. By far the best li hing mango and other amazing dried fruits, candies and more. The owner is rough around the edges but if you show her respect she’ll show you respect. Hands down the best on the Big Island??

Nothing to see here folks. I mean that, there is just nothing worth seeing here that you can't find in any ABC store on the island. Sometimes I can usually find at least something redeeming in a store to give credit to because I don't want to be that guy. Unfortunately in this particular instance it's not even worth your time to pull into the parking lot and park in front of the place.

Lady who runs this shop is bitter and has little people skills. She's rude and starts fights with people any chance she gets. Disgusting way to run a business and not a nice person.

A true Island Auntie who obviously cares deeply about her culture and has it in her. I was happy to buy from a salt of the Earth lady. Go here if you want authentic. Good book collection too.

Worst customer service. The lady that charges at the register I don’t know if she’s the wonder but she was very rude! I don’t know if it’s because we were speaking Spanish or we are tourist still a very rude experience. Never going into that shop again. I felt embarrassed taking my mom in there to shop around she came from Mexico to see the island and was greeted very horribly by this woman. Do not waste your time going inside.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my interaction with the female owner at this business was so terrible, I wish I could forget it. If you're on vacation and expect a welcoming local experience, skip this place.

All the bad reviews about this place and it’s senile owner is 100% true. I was literally in the store for 1 minute before being insulted. This owner is an old hag who rudely communicates with everyone in such an unnecessary assh0le demeanor for no apparent reason. Long story short, I said “excuse me” to get her attention to ask her a question, she ignores me- so I say it again. She angrily replies, “I heard you the first time!” and finally acknowledges me with eye contact. I asked if there is an ATM nearby. She then asks me if I “even checked next door or knew how to read.”I get it though. If I quiffed dust and was set to go to hell, I’d probably be angry too.Easy decision not to support this business. You always lose against crazy.

Very hateful owner. My visiting mother walked in and asked what crackseed was and the owner immediately replied “you wouldn’t know, It’s and asian thing.”, assuming that my grandmother was just an u cultured white woman. She also got extremely upset when I touched a seashell and told me not to touch anything in the store. I was also very excited to buy a book but her negative attitude drove me away. We immediately left and moved on to the next store in shock of what the woman had just said to us. I’m not surprised by reading these reviews. No Aloha at all.

Opens late and completely rude owner. She yelled at me for using my phone just while window shopping and didn't believe me when I said I wanted to buy crack seed, thinking I didn't know what it is. I told her I would be back after she opened and said "why don't you." Needless to say, I'll get my crack seed at an ABC store, snack Hawaii in Kona, or in Oahu instead. Absolutely not worth giving this woman business.I was able to turn this experience around once I noticed people kept talking about Hawaiian Style Cafe next door. GO THERE!

Was standing on the sidewalk in front of this forgettable little business when a masked old woman starting yelling unprovoked at people to give her six feet of space to bring out her goods. Then she insulted a number of people including a couple who saw the open door, assumed it was open, and started to go in. They were told they couldn't read and then got a dissertation about how stupid tourists were and that they can't read the hours of operation sign. When I took a picture of her, she told me to post my review on Yelp, which was the first intelligent thing this auntie had to say. Mahalo.
