They do no maintenance on their equipment. Rented a tile saw, the blade lock was frozen, could not adjust the blade height to do bevel cuts or plunge cuts. OK well I will just do all my straight cuts. I put a square on the tray to check the alignment before starting to cut, way off square at least 1/8th of an inch. OK I can adjust the tray... nope the tray alignment screws frozen. I could not use this saw at all, didn't even turn it on.It's a shame, it was a good quality saw. If they had just cleaned and lubricated it after each rental it would have been fine. Now it is a piece of junk.The only positive is after complaining about the saw and refusing to pay for a useless piece of equipment he said he would not charge me and don't come back. No worries I will not be back.

Absolutely the worst customer service, I purchased a DR field and brush mower, which broke 6 days later and they received for warranty service 9 days later. The mechanic had access to the machine for over 2 months and lacked motivation to work on the problem. He actually told me that the parts just came in when I saw them at pro rental weeks prior. Then he told me he needed to jerry-rig it back together and that could take another 2 to 3 months. When you purchase a machine which costs close to $4000 and has a 2 year warranty jerry-rigging a fix which will void, your warranty is not acceptable. I spoke to the owner by phone while in the store and he offered to have the mower repaired at another facility, which was acceptable to me, but he discovered there was not another mechanic on the island who worked on them. At which point he offered me 2 choices: have their mechanic repair the machine in a day and trust that he was going to perform the repair correctly or have the broken machine returned to me. I would not accept either and suggested he refund my money. He had to check with his employee and see if it was a possibility. In all fairness, I received a refund. However, the store blamed everyone and everything for the repair not being done. The problem was with DR and the contract they should have never taken, The Republicans, Donald Trump (Even though he was not in office during the time I owned the mower), Covid-19, gasoline prices, etc. And the best one was the owner of Pro Rental not being a mechanic was the reason that the service was not done. I guess if you are going to allow your employees to make business decisions and bad mouth you, this is what I should expect of a business. While this may be a decent place to rent equipment, I suggest you should make purchases elsewhere.

We went on Thursday this past week, and omg talk about the rudest, lack of customer service we experienced. Plus plus he even tried to rip me off. He swore at me when he got flustered. Then tried to back peddle himself. His name is Steve apparently he’s the owner of this business. Figure I’d service local Waimea businesses but heck no I’ll drive to Kona farm and garden from now on. Sad to say... now I will share my terrible experience with my friends & Obama.. no moe local business !!!

I'd give negative starts if possible. This place currently is under new management and has increasingly declined in service, knowledge of tool and has increased in price. Now I understand prices need to increase. However the previous owner would rent on weekends, as most people need tool, Rental on a weekend. New owner claims, I'm closed on the weekend so you have to rent for 4 days. Friday till Monday.He rental a concrete saw I've rented from the previous owner that obviously would come with a blade for concrete. He rents the tool with no blade. That's like renting a rental car with no tires. He sells be a blade a swears it cuts concrete. I get hoMe and use the blade with no luck. But I still get charged. Trust me make to drive any place but this one.

As a new house owner outside of Waimea, couldn't be happier with their service. Pat does an outstanding job reviewing and demonstrating equipment for sale. The rentals have all been in great working condition. I had a new Stihl chainsaw break on me and Pat helped me to get it fixed under warranty. If you want to feel confident in your purchase from a customer-driven business..this is your place.

This place just started up, so they are a little disorganized. Very professional. All the equipment is new. It seems like Milwaukee brand is what they use, and it's a good company.

The price of stihl chainsaws and accessories are lower than than the Hilo dealerships. I also had my older chainsaw repaired and ready to pickup in 2 hours. It is nice to have the convenience of a tool rental here in Waimea. The drive to Hilo or Kona is a real pain that cuts your work day in half. I recommend this place.
