“I walked into the hotel and I was greeted with great energy! My wife took me to our suite, and AGAIN, amazed at the work they put in to make this event special. Immediately tipped the 2 staff members for attending to every request on the drop of a dime.”

“I would definitely stay here again! It is an old historic building, with thin walls, that sits right on a main road in and out of town. The building is on the corner at a 4 way stop. This was my only major issue, semi trucks and construction trucks coming and going all throughout the night, stopping, and the reeving up to get going. Obviously this is not the fault of the hotel whatsoever, just a heads up to others who might be light sleepers. We got some ear plugs and that solved that issue. There are multiple bars surrounding the hotel, so it was pretty entertaining at night listening to the folks leaving the bars or arguing in the street. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear people talking and watching TV in their rooms, walking in the hallway, the squeak of the stairs when people used them, and the elevator running. The elevator was a pretty cool experience. It had a thick outer door and then a pull closed gate door. So when the elevator moved, you could see and touch the elevator shaft walls. The bathroom was pretty cool. It had lots of lighting, really nice smelling shampoo.conditioner, and the room had it's own water heater so we never ran out of hot water. My absolute favorite thing was that it also had a heater you could turn on and off. It was so nice to turn it on so when you get out of the shower the bathroom is nice and toasty.Having a real kitchen was so nice! The room had a stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, sink, and a full size fridge! The kitchen wasn't super stocked; 3 plates, 1 bowl, 2 mugs, 3 forks, 1 butterknife, a ladle, a medium soup pot, and a medium frying pan. Despite not being fully stocked, it wasn't an issue getting things we ended up needing. The front desk was super helpful and if we needed any sort of kitchen item, they would run to their storage area and get the item for us, we never had to go out and buy anything. The cleaning folks were very respectful of our privacy and very accomodating. If we needed new towels, they would give us them and gather up the old towels. My only gripe about the hotel specifically was the bed. The mattress itself was a very stiff spring mattress. The pillows were not the best, but we made due. The pillows were obviously very old, the cotton inside was hard and lumpy. The sheets were absolutely disgusting. They look like they had not been changed or washed in decades. You could see the dirty and sweaty imprint of one person who slept in the middle for a very long time. We stripped the bed, but the dirt and sweat was also stained into the mattress. It was really gross. We ended up buying a blanket to lay down on and sleep on.Rooms: The bathroom was pretty cool. There are banks, restaurants, the movie theatre, bars, gas stations, all within walking distance. You do need to drive a little ways down the road for the grocery store.Noteworthy details: My only gripe about the hotel specifically was the bed.
