Words can’t describe how incredible of an experience we had at the High Country Inn. Every morning we were greeted by Jo and her amazing homemade breakfast. She is a wealth of knowledge about the area and more than happy to share. She is the sweetest soul. The breakfasts are incredible and change daily. In addition to the wonderful hospitality, the rooms are spacious. There’s also a whole game cabin as well where we played pool every night. There’s also darts and poker available. Laundry and a kitchenette too. They also have a fire pit and horseshoes available. All in all, it’s a great deal and moments and memories to last a lifetime.Food & drinks: Breakfast included every morning with homemade breads/scones/muffins to start and a hearty breakfast full of eggs, a meat and bread to follow. Jo is an incredible cook!

Best place to stay in the entirety of Idaho!!! Found this place on a whim while planning last minute and it was a God send. Great, hidden location with all the amenities you could ask for and more! Gorgeous views from every which place and just far enough from the highway to forget you’re on vacation. Didn’t want for a single thing and in fact was pleasantly surprised at every detail that Jo so carefully thought for. She makes a mean cinnamon roll (and best eggs?) that alone will bring you back! Couldn’t speak higher of this amazing lodging, can’t wait to come back!!! God bless you Jo!!!

My husband and I stayed here so he could go fishing. My husband was getting up too early the first morning for breakfast so Jo gave him some muffins for the morning. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. I might suggest bringing your own pillow. While my husband fished I was able to catch up on my laundry from the trip. Enjoyed watching tv in our room and having coffee. I got to enjoy breakfast with Jo and the other guests. You can tell Jo has a love for this B&B and it's more than a business. The next day we both enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the history of the property that Jo shared. We can't wait to come back and bring our family and stay in the family cabin. Super clean and private but I felt very safe on top of the mountain. 10 stars!!

I can't say enough about the hospitality, even if they had 10 stars I would want to add more! Jo was a wonderful hostess, and accommodated everything we needed, not to mention the food was outstanding.Highly recommended, and we hope to be back again soon. Make sure you ask her about her Cookbook, and do the Dworshak Dam Tour, her husband was a part of the history of the Dworshak Dam.

This place was amazing! We stayed one night while passing through the area. We wished that we would have stayed longer. It was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The best part was getting to talk with Jo (the owner) over her home cooked delicious breakfast.

My husband and I had a fabulous stay. The accommodations, food, and hospitality were spot on. The Inn is a jewel, ensconced in nature, a tranquil retreat.

We decided to go for a adventure. Not knowing what we wanted to do. We ended up in kooskia to see family and friends and decided that we wanted to stay the night. Well with everything going on there was no vacancy in the area, after call multiple place and starting to lose hope . Jo answered the phone at high country to tell us that she had one cabin left for us. We go there and was greeted with kindness and was shown to our cabin. Beautiful view and welcoming cabin. In the morning we enjoyed homemade breakfast with different drink options. We didn't get to enjoy all at the amenities but next time we come down we well be staying here.

I cannot recommend this wonderful inn highly enough! Everything was spectacular, from the mountain location close to the Dworshak Dam, to the wonderful and comfortable decor and ambience, cleanliness, the fabulous food, and Jo Morris herself. She is a warm and loving retired principal, teacher and caterer, an energetic powerhouse, and the epitome of hospitality. We stayed in the main house in the Moose Room, and couldn't have been happier or more comfortable. We have been going to Orofino for decades to see family, and had no idea this wonderful inn existed. I found it by accident when looking for somewhere to stay when most of the usual places were sold out. It is listed under B&Bs, and not Airbnbs. We will definitely be back (actually hated to have to leave!). You won't be disappointed.

Loved this place! It is such a beautiful location. The lodge, the cabins and rooms were adorable, clean and comfortable. The food was simple but delicious (such as biscuits and gravy, or bacon, eggs and hashbrowns). It would be an excellent place for a family reunion or a short weekend getaway. The hostess was super friendly and kind. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place!
