Came in with kids, they wanted the overpriced animal toys, all of them range up 1-2 dollars above listed prices. Even after he was told correct price by another employee, cashier just hid how much much he was ringing up for and wouldn't show screen of how his charges were. Got the reciept and found out and went back in. No resolution offered, just that the prices listed are not accurate? Not acceptable. Lying deceptive practice. Will not come again just based on this. Hope the $5 was worth it.

Ridiculous price to have a simple single sided door knob key made. When someone asks if you make keys you may want to tell them before hand what it costs when it is over double what it should be. And on top of that they werent cut correctly and didnt work. $15 for two keys! I live right around the corner from Ace and buy stuff here often but not anymore. Went to Baldwin Lock and Key and had it done for $3.25 each. And Baldwins keys actually worked.

Trying to support smaller stores rather than the big box conglomerates, but the customer service polices at ACE Hardware on State St repeatedly doesn't hold up. They sell 'dog chews' with something wrong with them. $5 'bone', both of my dogs gave it a sniff and walked away. I bought 2 and tried to return the unopened one two days later, only to be told no deal without receipt. Those Craftsman tools they sell - now made in Taiwan rather than USA. And the lifetime warranty on those Craftsman tools tools? Better have your receipt for the ratchet set purchased back in 2005, else no warranty. True Value just declared bankruptcy, maybe ACE is next. Back to the big box conglomerates, they do customer service so much better.

B's ace is cool, they're super nice, have a shop cat, have free kid activities and a really good BBQ section. Perfect for dads to visit with their kids

This is good store to have around. They are close by, usually have what I need, and have a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I generally don't use them, though, because many Ace stores provide a 10% discount for seniors, but this one doesn't. They are also a bit more expensive than bigger stores but convenient enough that I am ok with that.
