Sarah took the time to help me open a CD when the branch was busy. She didn't have to but it really meant a lot to me. She had excellent customer service and went above and beyond. Very good experience. I plan on making this my home branch!

I have been a member of CapEd for the last 10 years and I am a business owner. I am very sad to say that it is my experience that CAPED does not value business customers. The biggest thing is that whenever I go into the branch to make a deposit, it's a big ordeal that wastes my time. Most of the tellers don't have the authority to make my business deposits because it's over their limit. Then they have to go find a manager to approve my deposit, which can take a while if they are helping another customer. Then there are the tellers who suggestive sell products to me without any knowledge about my business! Then there's lack of confidentiality during transactions. Mostly, though, it's just so difficult to do business with them. Do they have a business line of credit? I don't know, no one has ever suggested that to me. There's more but it exhausts me to think about it. I have complained to several managers who have nicely listened, but they have absolutely no authority to change anything. So I moved all of my accounts. Given the amount of money that businesses deposit, you'd think that the needs of business owners would be a priority, but they are not. So if you have a growing business and you need a financial institution that will be there to help you as you grow, this is not it.

Two years ago when I couldn’t pay my growing overdraft fees after asking CapEd to stop any payments from coming in because I wouldn’t be able to cover it due to temporary financial hardship. In response, the teller told me they talk to all the banks and I wouldn’t be able to open another checking account anywhere. I’ve been happily bank free since! And life is GOOD!! Thank you CapEd for putting me in an impossible position so I could finally be free of all banking institutions! I never needed you. You needed me and you tried to scare me into agreeing to being exploited by your policies you claimed was for my benefit.

Love the bank, people are welcoming and plenty of benefits for people who are looking to start their financial journey or who are already vested in banks.

My family has a High Yield checking account that requires 12 Debits each month. We have fulfilled this requirement every month at least a few days beforehand. My mother is sick right now and we have not been able to get out much, we got towards the end of the month so on the 29th we did the last 2 debits. The merchant charged the card, CapEd took the money from the account, but because of some kind of system error it was still pending. Because of that they unqualified her for the High Yeild interest rate. She spoke with someone for close to an hour and they just said "nope, you should have known that 'pending' means it won't go through. You need to do them earlier in the month. You can't have your $40-$60 in interest."No compromise. Nothing fixed. We took care of this when the paperwork said it needed to be done. We have no way of knowing something isn't going to go through. Even if we had been able to see it, it wouldn't show until the next day.Unacceptable.Also, the phone agent hung up without a solution. I guess she was close to the end of her shift. This is terrible Service.

I entered Cap Ed by the mall to get help with accessing my Cap Ed account on my IPhone. I am very uncomfortable using cell phones, so I was apprehensive and nervous to explain my dilemma. When I walked through the door, I was greeted by several friendly tellers. Sarah was at the window I accessed. Even though she is not an IPhone user, she was so patient and helpful and encouraging. She downloaded info onto my phone, helped me so much, and she ensured that I could access the info myself. I am SO VERY APPRECIATIVE of Sarah’s assistance. She is a wonderful employee who deserves recognition!!! JOB WELL DONE!! Thank you.

I've banked here for probably 2 decades almost, but am going to look at anther bank, possibly an online bank as CapEd has gone downhill. Stopped at ATM to get cash for a trip. ATM would only give 100's, but I wanted 50's so took the ATM received cash into the bank to break down to 50's. To have that happen I had to not only show my ID (for cash to cash exchange) but then had to sign my name...all to "ensure I don't pass counterfeit cash." I guess I must look like a criminal??? When I mentioned how stupid it was I got a lecture about how "it's for my protection"...where have I heard that justification before? If you want to be treated to a bunch of red tape and jump thru hoops for simple transactions AND have it insinuated that you might be a counterfeiter then bank here, otherwise go elsewhere if you want personal service and treated with respect!

I've been using Capital Educators Federal Credit Union for about 22 years. I've always found the people who work there to be friendly, well informed, and very helpful. I have never had any sort of a problem depositing or withdrawing funds from the credit union. I have never been harassed or otherwise maltreated by anyone anywhere in the Capital Educators Federal Credit Union system.I would never consider going back to a bank after my great experience with Capital Educators. I've seen a number negative reviews, but each says more about the writer than they say about the credit union. I have yet to read one with any real substance. So I'm using my review to provide a counterpoint for those silly abusive reviews. My review is an honest one, and I'm serious. Thank you Capital Educators Federal Credit Union!
