Terrible experience with the front desk people specifically Colin. After calling a different branch on the 800 number whom explained and helped me get the account I actually wanted opened. I called the boise branch back to set up an appointment with an advisor, Colin said I need at least a million dollars ready to invest to do that. The people on the 800 number said there is no minimum amount and I should be able to sit down with a local advisor even if all I had was 10 dollars to invest. I wasted 45 min in there setting up the wrong account and being treated like I was stupid.

I had been named one of the beneficiaries for my grandmothers thrift savings plan when she passed away suddenly a few months ago. I was told I would need to transfer the funds to an inherited IRA or need to withdraw the total amount (which I would later be taxed on) and had a short time line to do so. I chose to transfer and decided to go with Charles Schwab since everything I had read about them online seemed really great. I had a good experience talking to Charles Schwab on the phone and today was the first time I had gone into my local Charles Schwab office to deposit the check. I had my husband come in with me to help me if I needed it. We told the woman at the front desk our situation and she was very cold and very condescending about the entire thing. At one point she asked me who named me a beneficiary and when I told her my grandmother she immediately snapped at me and said “I NEED HER NAME.” I told the woman my grandmothers name and she replied, “OK THATS WHAT I WAS ASKING YOU. IT DOESN'T JUST SAY GRANDMOTHER ON THE PLAN” in a condescending tone. I am a grown woman who was treated like a child and I should have immediately taken my business elsewhere. I was running out of time and decided to keep my account with Schwab. I wouldn’t ever like to step foot in this office again based on my initial interaction with this woman and the Boise office. I would recommend you teach your employees how to interact with clients and people in general. You’d think an older woman who has worked there long enough would know how to talk to and treat others in a respectful and kind way. I’d give 0 stars if I could.

Garbage service. I was unable to login in on one of the most volitile days of the year resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars. The phone service was also down at that time. I feel like i was scammed.

Opened a online checking account due the stated ability to take pictures of checks for deposit (no need to go to a branch or bank location...great time saver). Tried the Schwab deposit app several times over the course of a few days (just in case it was a one time CS system glitch) and I can tell you it doesn't work with my Samsung Android camera. While the pictures appear perfectly fine, the system asked me to retake several times without success. I called Schwab. They didn't respond to the issue at all, instead suggesting I just send my deposits by mail. This leads me to believe their online deposit does not work all that well.

I would not recommend Charles Schwab in general. It is great until you don't deal with CS customer service.Their verification system is so outdated that if you don't answer security questions (including exact addresses where you previously lived 15 years ago) your account could be easily suspended, so it would be a troublesome to verify it and as physical presence in their office would be only an option. It took me hours to verify my account again. Also, if you have any question, don't even bother to try to reach anyone in this office, nobody would pick up a phone anyways.Currently, I am looking for other brokerage account to move my funds to as I found CS doesn't care as much. I wish TD Ameritrade would never been purchased by CS.

Great experience with Cameron. Helped solve a couple problems we’ve been struggling with for months. Can’t recommend him enough!

I'm a long time customer of TD Ameritrade which was acquired by Charles Schwab. My story is long and painful - I'll try to address the low points as the reader of this review will get the gist of it. The Boise (Schwab) staff couldn't tell me when my account would be part of a system conversion. I decided to open a new Schwab account and transfer my TD account to it rather than wait for the "conversion". I was told that the transfer would be simple and it turned out to be a time consuming nightmare. When the Schwab account was finally open, the staff at the Boise (Schwab) office provided the required documentation to transfer my TD account. After I pointed out their typographical errors, the documents were corrected and signed and I was told that it would take 5-7 days to complete the transfer. It's now 23 days later, and they still haven't finished it. All the while, I have had no access to my TD account and my the income from the account has suffered. Over the past 3 weeks, the communication from the Boise office has been almost nonexistent. The only way I was able to find out what was going is via an excellent Schwab employee in Chicago - which I found only by chance. After having a spirited conversation with one of the folks at the Boise office this past week, I'm moving the relationship to the advisor in Chicago.

Walked in requiring help with a non standard banking request. Cam Davis, the Client Relations Specialist, was responsive, supportive, and handled my request with urgency.

I have had to deal with the Boise branch of Schwab, once on behalf of my mother and 2 weeks ago on behalf of my sister. The service was exemplary. Gracious and all requests attended to, all questions answered. In these days of "that's not my job" I am most appreciative.

I "was" a potential new client. I've tried calling this location multiple times and always get routed to a national call center. More than once I was supposed to get a call back from them to make an appointment and actually start investing. I can't even get a return phone call. Clearly these guys are not interested. This is a huge red flag telling me to take my business elsewhere!Shame on the staff working at this location for not even giving a call back to what would have been a new client!

Scheduled an appointment online over a week ago with no response. Sent a second request notifying them of their lack of response and still never responded.
