This was my very first year filing my taxes for my own business, which I expressed to Tom being very nervous for. He was great in meeting but the minute I left their office I received zero communication. I sent several emails and phoned their office. I did not receive my files back until July. It was only after I sent a demanding email that I got the files the next day. This was a stressful process to navigate and the zero communication on top has made for a negative experience. I did not feel like my needs were prioritized and I still have not received a response to any emails sent.

We struggled for years to find a great accountant. Tom is THE BEST around and has found ways structure our business and personal tax strategies and help us achieve a level of precision that we did not think possible. Until you experience first hand what a skilled CPA can do you for you, you'll have no idea what you are missing.

I sent my tax information to them and ask for phone call before completing my taxes. I never received a call. After my taxes were completed I went to the office and signed my tax forms. Five phone calls later and several emails and my taxes were not filed on time because they had no record of my signatures. I received an email stating they need my signature on April 26th. I started the whole process at least a month before the April 15th dead line. Totally unacceptable!

My experience with Czarniecki & Company has been largely negative. On the positive side, ever person I have spoken with at the company has been very friendly. They took care of some communications to me from the IRS very promptly, for which I was very thankful. However, my overall impression is that they have not set up systems to help them make sure things do not get missed. I had three different conversations with Tom and Tomas concerning a state franchise and excise tax for which an exemption needed to be filed. I told them I could do it myself, but if they assured me they would get it done. Almost a year later I am now paying interest and penalties as the exemption was never filed.Tomas especially does not communicate. He never replied to emails. He is great on the phone, but if he says that he does not do what he promises. I have had at least 4 conversations with him on the phone in which he said he would email me, call someone else, or take care of some paperwork. None of those things ever happened at it would take me weeks of calling in to the office to get things sorted. At this time I would say they probably do very good work for an easy personal return. If you have a business or multiple businesses, they are not set up to handle these accounts

Tom is by far the most knowledgeable tax professional I’ve encountered. If you’re a high touch client, or you want immediate attention- you’re not going to get it here, just being honest. But if you want someone that will ensure you are prepared each year come tax time- he’s your guy.

I can't remember the last time I felt motivated enough to leave a review, but unfortunately this one won’t be for positive reasons. I was referred to Czarniecki & Company by a friend of mine in 2022. I started a side business during the early months of 2023 and, even though its only employee was myself and annual income was below $15,000, I still wanted the help of a professional to keep me on track and off the IRS’s hit list.I reached out and got a first appointment with no trouble. I met with Tomas, who I stupidly thought was the owner, and after an hour-long first consultation (free), I had a much better understanding of how to go forward with my business. He told me to reach out later in fall to get things ready for 2024’s tax season.Fast-forward to September 2023, I reached out once again to Tomas, but got an out of office reply while he was on vacation. I gave it two weeks, but never heard back, so I followed up. A couple days later, still no reply. That was September. This time, in late October, I emailed Tomas again, as I was starting to get antsy about getting my finances in order for 2024. Again, my email got no reply. So I followed up, yet again. And surprise, no answer. So this time I CC’d the firm’s owner, Tom Czarniecki. Tom responded the following day, letting me know he had set up a virtual appointment with Tomas on Oct. 31. I was somewhat glad to finally have an appointment, but was still annoyed from the total lack of communication from Tomas. Why was the firm’s owner making appointments on my advisor’s behalf? Halloween rolls around, and instead of a virtual meeting, I get a phone call from Tomas. I told him where I was at with my year-to-date finances, but after just 7 minutes he told me just to email him my finances instead, and the meeting promptly ended. I was very disappointed, but thankful I wasn’t charged for a measly 7-minute consultation. So the following day, Nov. 1, I crunched the numbers and emailed him a summary, hoping for some further direction, which I would have been happy to pay for. But after 8 days, I still hadn’t got a reply from Tomas. At this point, I was mentally moving on from this firm, but with the year’s end not too far off, I wanted to at least see this through with this firm. But 5 days later, I still hadn’t heard from Tomas. So once again, I CC’d Tom in an email to Tomas, and finally expressed my disappointment in this firm, and that I would be seeking out another firm if I didn’t hear soon. And surprise, no reply as of writing this.I have since begun seeking out another firm to work with, but felt too incensed to not leave a review of this firm. It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time business owner like myself or someone who’s way more advanced, the professionalism and lack of communication from Czarniecki & Company is pathetic and worthy of a rare review from my pen. I even read through their Google Reviews right before writing this, just to see if my experience was a one-off. But only a few reviews in, and I found several other folks had also been victims of abysmal communication and severed their services.

Tom and the team at Czarniecki are fantastic. As new business owners, my wife and I were apprehensive about filing taxes for the first time. Tom met with us, answered our many questions, and has been a fantastic resource in filing and preparing our taxes. We started the process late (early April) and Tom reviewed our documents while we were there, assured us that we wouldn't have any major tax penalties, then filed an extension to take the pressure off. It took a little bit of time for his team to prepare our taxes since we were so late in the game, but they finished the work, got everything filed, and helped us get a nice refund. We just finished a planning meeting for next year today. We left feeling confident of our path for next year and are looking forward to working with Tom and his lovely team for many years to come!

I don't take poor reviews lightly, but my experience with Czarneiki & Company the past year warrants nothing more. We started out great at first, but this year has been an absolute nightmare to the point I moved on and hired a new accounting firm. This year, my business situation changed from being an employee to owning multiple businesses, and it happened fast. I needed to speak with Tom to create a game plan. I scheduled an appointment about 2.5 weeks out because that was the first available. Then, a few days before my appointment, I received notification that Tom would not be available and I could see Tomas instead or reschedule with Tom in another 2-3 weeks. I chose to meet with Tomas. In our appointment, I was initially very excited. Tomas was giving me some advice I really liked hearing like, "You don't have to pay your quarterly taxes because there is only a 1% penalty" and "Only pay yourself 20% of your total earnings in your S-corp and take the rest as a distribution." Unfortunately, when I spoke to my independent financial advisor and other accounting acquaintances, they firmly disproved this information.Because of this, I utilized Czarneiki & Company's online scheduling option to set a meeting with Tom to attempt to settle these matters and create a plan. I noticed Tom was available on a Saturday two weeks away from the day I was scheduling. I selected my time and date. Again, a few days before my appointment, a secretary reached out to me informing me that Tom does not work on Saturdays and that we needed to reschedule another 2-3 weeks out.At this point, I was furious. I responded to the secretary's email briefly outlining my situation and she again offered no help getting with Tom and offered to set me up with Tomas even though I had mentioned that Tomas gave me bad advice.I responded letting them know I would be finding a new firm. Two days later, the receptionist responded informing me that Tom's schedule had changed and they were willing to work with me, but it was too late.Fast forward to July 26th. They emailed me an invoice from the meeting with Tomas for $75. The date of the invoice was 6/21/23 due on 7/21/23, and this email on was the first I heard about it. I was with him for maybe 15-20 minutes, so I think the charge is bogus. Luckily, they have not yet charged me interest or any additional charges. In conclusion, I thought Tom was great when I first met with him. They did my personal taxes for two years without a hitch and it was easy. My financial advisor even commented on how great their tax reports were. But when it was time to do more, they could not deliver and created an even bigger headache.

When I first met Tom he was so full of knowledge and sounded like he knew what he was doing. And then I trusted them to do my taxes. I never heard from them and when I called to make sure they had everything they needed, the front desk they were all set. Turns out that they didn't even have my paperwork. I had to hound them for a phone call back and to answer emails and they never did. Taxes are nothing to mess around with and as a business owner, it is worse when you pick someone that messes up to where you have to pay fees and fines. Run away as fast as you can unless you want to had the government your hard earned money.

This is our second year working with Czarniecki and Co. We have had a wonderful experience with them. They have helped us work through some IRS issues, and have been quick and communicative when we needed them to be. Have recommended to many friends who have also had great expereinces!

Tom is a fun, nice, smart guy that we trusted with our personal and my business account for almost a decade. Unfortunately he has become impossible to connect with (and when he does, it's fleeting), which is exactly what every single referral we sent him said as well. I genuinely wish him all the best and hope he turns this around, but he has forced us to move to another firm.
