The worst car rental company. If you question a charge you can reach no one to help you and after 1.5 hrs they ask why you are upset. Maybe because you have no customer service!

Rented at Minneapolis St Paul, One of the rudest customer service people I have ever run into on pick up. Request Mid Size and they gave me a Compact SUV, (Kiv Kick?) said it was and upgrade, right. Returning the car different person customer service, same attitude, just leave it their will e-mail your receipt, didn't leave the office to look at the car. As for the lost and found, realize I left my tablet in the car, needed all the numbers on the receipt to file a claim which was the next morning. Received two automated responses, Sorry didn't find it. Right.

My wife and mother flew into Las Vegas on November 4th and we got there at 2:45 pm and went down stairs to pick up our car. We were standing in line waiting to get our car then this woman came over and got the employee's face and started yelling at her she did not deserve that and I thought she handel it well. Bit other wise even after all she went through she was still good to my wife and I. I did not get the employees name but she was great.

The car was soo unsafe and didn’t notice until it rained and at that point we were over an hour away and don’t have time to sit and wait for roadside service as we had a strict timeline for my husbands graduation from the IS Marshals program. When reporting the issues at check out nothing was compensated. I emailed customer service and explained the the windshield bubbled and you couldn’t see out of it unless you ran the wipers at full blast and the alignment was off. This was supposedly a “free upgrade” that we didn’t ask for. Beyond disappointed and the customer service reps don’t seem to really care they got their money so why would they. I will never use them again.

I hate to leave bad reviews, however I wanted to alert others about the $9.95 administrative fee for EACH toll that you pass through. Many areas have gone to tolls that send bills via license plate information if you don't have a pass, so you can't pay for them as you go. I have never been charged such high administrative fees by a rental car company. They didn't recognize the car insurance we had purchased through Travelocity and tried to force us to buy it again. The car was dirty and smelled dank and smoky. I do not recommend this company and will not be renting from them again in the future.Update: I did reach out to their customer service department who stated that they offer a toll pass for the length of the rental and allowed us to purchase the pass after the fact, which was very nice of them to do. Apparently this was supposed to have been offered when we picked up the car. It wasn't, but that isn't the main customer service's fault. I still doubt that I will rent from them again d/t the quality and cleanliness of the car as well as how unprofessional and rude the lady was at the counter when we picked up the car. However, I do have to give their customer service credit for helping out with what they could after being notified of the issues.

Wish I’d have read reviews before renting from thrifty. They’re literally the worst. Was charged a $75 cleaning fee, my guess is they had to vacuum some crumbs… they don’t vacuum anyway? I have a young daughter and have been renting cars since she was a baby. Sure she leaves crumbs behind. This is the first company to charge me for vacuuming a car they were (hopefully) going to vacuum anyway. NEVER again. I’ll walk or hitchhike before I rent for them again. Matter of fact, we had to walk to the airport terminal (a mile at least) from the rental drop off because there wasn’t a shuttle. LAME is an understatement.

I rented a car while in Orlando and was charged additional fees that I was not informed about after I turned the car in. Gas tank was full, no damage to the car. I did have an additional driver but when I asked if I could add one I was not told I would be charged a fee. The additional charges are as follows- $54.00 for the Additional Operator, $24.62 Concession Fee Recovery, $14.00 for the Customer Facility Charge, $8.08 for the Motor Vehicle Tax, $43.96 for the Toll Fees, $16.18 (6.50%) for the taxes of these optional items, for a total of $160.84. I added the prepaid unlimited toll package so not sure why I was changed all of these extra fees. I have never had this issue with any other rental car company. I will never rent form Thrifty again. They are a huge rip-off!

If I could leave leave zero stars, I would. I rented a economy car in KC on 10/7/2021. There was no agent at the counter, but the agent at Hertz was helping at the Dollar counter. Of course, they help all the Hertz customers first, then us, which had roughly 6 people in their line. Probably the rules, bigger name company gets to their customers first.I NEVER buy the extra products, NEVER. I specifically remember the verbiage being confusing on the insurance coverage, and I replied that my personal insurance with USAA covers me driving other vehicles including rentals, I have a AAA card for roadside assistance, and my Citicard also has rental car coverage, so I NEVER would have purchased the additional coverage. When I turned the car in at 5am on 10/11/2021 I told the attendant that the amount seemed rather high. He said there was nothing he could do, but to call customer service when I returned home. After a very heated conversation with customer service, I will not be getting a refund. I know the agents are sneaky and trick people into getting the insurance probably because they pay their employees barely over minimum wage so they resort to unethical practices.I had reservations about going with a lesser company besides the big ones like Hertz and Enterprise which have always been my go-to in the past. I would have been better off paying for an Uber for my entire trip than using this awful company.Be warned.

Website is easy enough to use. Location is a tad bit hard to find and they don't mention that you HAVE to have a credit card. So make sure you have a credit card BEFORE showing up to pickup your car. Insurance for the rental is third party and might not be refunded.

Overall not a bad experience everything was smooth and easy, the only complaint is I had reserved a Jeep Compass a American made vehicle, but get there and instead they give me a Mazda CX-5?

Thrifty does not care about their customers! I too booked with a debit card that they had no problem taking the money from but when we went to pick up the car they wouldn't take it. They also wouldn't take my husbands credit card (he was with me and its a joint card!) Nor would they allow me to change the name on my booking or add him as a driver. Because of them my family was stranded thousands of miles from home l. I had no choice but to rent through another wonderful company. Thrifty agreed twice to return my money but now that its time to do that they refuse to give it back. Thanks a lot Thrifty.. you left my family stranded with no care to help plus cost me over a thousand dollars!

One attended at check in desk. 9 people in line. Shouldn’t take an hour to get a car when it has already been reserved

Seriously I wouldn't even give this place a star...it deserved no star. I got completely Screwed over...what should have only cost me $153 I ended up paying over $400 for my car rental for 2 days. Not to mention the rude lady at the desk when I dropped off the car. Never again will I rent from this place. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or all the extra money you'll pay here. My recommendation is enterprise or anywhere but here. I must add this was a dollar car rental in Houston, Texas. Not sure how it is here in Boise...but from the looks of it seems like they are all the same.

Came to pick up the car at the airport with the reservation. We were told that the car would not be ready for two hours since they did not have enough personnel to clean the cars coming in. They were at least 10 other people in the same situation. Has never happened before. Could not go to another rental car agency without spending an extra $200/double our rate. Do not rent from these people. This was done through Priceline and they need to be informed.About two hours after my above review, I finally got my car. At this point, there must’ve been 30 more people who could not get their cars that they reserved either.I must state that the 2 young ladies behind the counter, despite all the trials and tribulations that they were being put through by a poorly organized company and angry customers, did an excellent job in managing a nightmare. They continue to smile and be very friendly throughout everything. In the end, I received a discount as well as an upgraded car, (the latter was by d*** luck-Sometimes God watches out for you). I still rate the company a one star, but the employees behind the desk I give five stars.
