To start, I do not have a problem with this branch, this is for the credit union as a whole! This branch has been very helpful every time I’ve came in.
I’ve been banking with ICCU for over 15 years. I have multiple accounts with them—business checking, savings, personal checking, credit accounts. They handle nearly all of my personal and business banking.
For the most part, I haven’t had many issues. My personal checking account has overdraft protection linked to my personal savings. Like many people, I’ve never gone through all the fine print in the terms and conditions—most of us don’t, and frankly, they’re written for lawyers, not customers.
Here’s the issue: ICCU’s system disables overdraft protection from your savings account after six transfers in a month. This is not a bug—it’s how their software is intentionally designed. Each of those transfers carries a $2 fee, and once you hit six, the system stops transferring altogether—presumably to avoid triggering excessive fees. But what it actually does is silently allow your account to overdraft instead.
That’s where I got caught. I went over my limit 14 times, and instead of paying $14 in transfer fees, I was hit with $349 in overdraft charges—$24.94 each.
It’s frustrating. I don’t remember anyone ever explaining this policy to me, and after being a member for so long, I expected better. This kind of setup feels like it penalizes members rather than protects them.

Wow, it's rare that I do reviews like this
It feels corporate and blank, that's what you'd expect from a place like this
Me and my father went to get an account opened up. One guy at the front desk I remember had black glasses. When I forgot to bring my ID, I could tell he was impatient about it. And that's his job!
But when I came back, instead of the same person, another guy called me. His name is Ray. He was actually kind and I could tell he was a real person. I remember when we asked him about what we were going to do and he said that it sounded great
People NEVER mean it when they ask how you're doing or how your day is. Except him, he did his job and helped us. That man deserves a raise. I give this place three stars or less but I give him five stars
......Also I can barely read the small text on the digital advertisement sign outside, it's not your vision. They were lazy about it. It's a low resolution screen. If you're putting text on a small screen, you don't just get a high resolution image with text and scale it down! Because it'll be BLURRY, that's not how it works! I'd prefer if they even just used one that isn't digital

I love coming to this location — the service is great and the staff is always friendly. However, don’t expect to get anything done quickly during your lunch break. Simple transactions get held up because tellers are often tied up with more complex ones, like loan payoffs, even when there are four tellers available. The wait times can be long, and the workflow could definitely be better managed during peak hours.

Wonderful experience! Very helpful and considerate team. Myckol Rodrigues helped open a new account as well as provide me with knew knowledge regarding benefits and assistance through Idaho Central Credit Union! So grateful to be a member!

I usually go into the Boise branch on Fairview and I’ve never been treated poorly, although, I will say it’s rare when good customer service stands out enough for me to take notice. Brooke K was one of those employees who stood out, she was welcoming, friendly, kind, and showed true care and concern. Being in the service industry most of my life, made today’s experience one to remember! It’s not every day we see a unicorn 😉

Not accommodating. I went in there to get $200 in quarters withdrawn from my checking account. Was told the bank could only give me $40 in quarters and would not budge when I pressed them. Told them I did that at the ICCU next to my house all the time. Left and went to another ICCU right by my house and they gave me the quarters without incident. It’s the small things that make you leave a bank.

This is the absolute worst bank I've ever dealt with. I will be pulling all three of my business, my personal, and all of my CDs out from them as soon as possible. They do not do a good job training their employees, No one ever knows what's going on. You can ask two people the exact same question and they'll both give you a different answer. I have never met a group of individuals that were so clueless. They will do anything to push the question onto someone else so they don't have to do anything. It's truly pathetic.

Many branches so it's hard to make sure people see the reality of the credit union. Basically the people are nice but every process will have several extra steps because of one reason or another - fighting fraud, etc. In the end it cost my business.

Overweight Hispanic man named michael (don’t know if that’s how it was spelled) was one of the worst experiences I’ve had dealing with customer service He was rude, he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. Made me uncomfortable how passive aggressive he was. They will tell you one thing and completely fall back on their word. Treated me poorly and then basically accused me of identity fraud because I “had a different haircut”. Closing all of my accounts with them if they don’t get rid of him. He completely wasted my time and in the he past they have accidentally taken money out of my account, it was their fault and they didn’t reimburse me. This credit union is a complete joke I suggest going elsewhere!
