Be aware that they will try and give you promises they can't keep just to get your business. We were going to go with another local moving company for an out of state move because we didn't want to wait more than 3 days for our belongings to be delivered. But their sales person Jason kept contacting me and said he could make it work. So he got everything in writing that we would get our stuff delivered in that three day window. So we committed to them. But with less than a week before the date we had to leave, we get a call from them that they have to change the delivery date to be up to ten or twelve days after they pick up our belongings. We were really upset and cancelled their service. Obviously it doesn't matter you have it in writing... They can and will change the contract. Not very professional at all...

In July we contracted with Merchants Moving to move our residential items from Boise Idaho to Jacksonville Florida. We utilized the Atlas Assured Price Protection Program which is a binding total charge estimated on weight. Which means regardless of actual weight, the surplus weight cannot be charged to you. Our actual weight turned out to be higher than the total binding weight. It was at this point the Corporate Relocation Coordinator from Merchants Moving began to harass us with multiple phone calls and emails trying to make us pay the surplus weight. The coordinator in some of her email comments she was rude, con dissenting and made false statements. Examples of her comments included stating the Relocation Consultant never went to view items in our storage facility, never came back out to re-estimate the weight once moved back to the garage from the storage facility and could not estimate everything in our garage. All these statements are false and she later even admitted she was not correct in these statements. She also stated our driver was unable to pick his second load due to our load was larger when anticipated. This was also false and she blamed it on the dispatcher sharing that information. We did not believe her and asked to talk to the dispatcher but was never provided the dispatchers contact information. The Corporate Relocation Coordinator even became upset that I responded to one of her emails with my own email instead of calling her. This interaction with the coordinator was stressful and unnecessary. We agreed to a total binding charge and because Merchant Moving errored in there estimate we should not have had multiple emails and phone calls trying to shame us into paying more. The coordinator even suggested we split/pay the difference for the additional weight. So why does Merchant Moving promote an Atlas Assured Price Protection Program if they don’t live up to that contractual agreement. In addition we had concerns with how our items were packaged and delivered. In Boise, the moving packers took apart our 100 year old furniture and other items to store in the moving truck. I did not know this was going to be done and would have paid more to have them not take apart this antique furniture. I was told that once delivered in Jacksonville the furniture would be put back together. When we arrived in Jacksonville we were informed the furniture would not be put back together since it was being delivered to a storage facility. Also items removed from the moving truck to the storage facility we improperly handled. An antique glass chandelier in a wardrobe box clearly marked this side up delivered upside down. A deceased member of our family urn also clearly marked this side up was also delivered upside down. Three flat screen tv monitors were also not delivered up and were stacked flat on a cart. We did not have time to inspect to see if these items were damaged since the employees off loading the truck were just concerned how fast they could off load the truck. When I later expressed my concerns to the coordinator she apologized for not explaining what happens when you move from a house into a storage facility. She further stated once items are off the truck and placed into a storage facility they are not responsible for any damages to items discovered later. The coordinator did offer to have someone or reimburse us the cost for someone to put the furniture they delivered back together. However after we did not agree to pay for the additional weight or spilt the cost of the additional weight she informed me they would not have someone or reimburse us the cost to pay someone to put the furniture back together. I feel this is wrong, she committed to paying for our furniture to be put back together and it was not conditional on us paying more than the binding agreement

This interaction with the coordinator was stressful and unnecessary. We used Merchants to help us with a local move. They were extremely responsive and organized. Our movers Noah and Dustin were fantastic. They were professional, courteous, and did not stop working. They moved all our furniture and heavy pieces and worked quickly while being cautious. I would definitely use them again and recommend them! The price was great too!

****** and ***** were very polite and professional. They were very careful with my Dad's furniture. No damage was done. They took apart furniture, wrapped it up , moved it to the new place, and put it all back together right where I wanted it. **** at the office was very helpful & nice. I would use them again and recommend them to everyone. Great team and reasonable prices! Thanks Merchant Moving and Storage for making the move so much easier!

These are some of the most wonderful people I have ever had help with a move. Shea, our coordinator and Matt, our driver are the most professional and helpful humans ever. They were both so wonderful and helpful and kind with arranging our last minute move! Definitely would recommend to anyone!

We used Merchants for our move a few years ago. Had furniture in storage here for almost a year. No issues whatsoever! Recently had a piece of furniture delivered here. It was assembled, wrapped and packed for us overnight. Highly recommend this company!

I had them help me move out of a 850 square foot apartment. I had all the boxes packed. All they had to move was 2 bedrooms and boxes nothing else. They made a 2 hour job into 8 hours. Super shady. They would leave things behind at both places and ask me to look if anything was scratch or damaged. But I would find their moving equipment that they would leave behind. They also left me 2 rolls of tape, that he thought I needed. I thought he was being nice. It was just to bring up the price I never have used them once. I was moving faster than them. I was sitting and waiting for them. That's how obvious slow they were being. I wish I would have asked my family for 2 hours of their time. They ended up charging me ....$925.00. I tipped both of the movers a $100 each before knowing my bill. I work in customer service. This establishment is a scam and not honest.

We recently used Merchants Moving to move from Montana to Idaho. We could not have asked for a better experience. The crew was very polite, efficient and respectful of our home and our belongings. The office staff was very helpful, and checked in to make sure everything was going well.I have made several long distance moves with professional moving companies and this was by far the best! Everything arrived safe and sound with absolutely no damage.

I've moved with Merchants twice and they were fantastic both times! Highly recommend! They're very professional, efficient, and an excellent value for the hard work they do. Justin and Beth in the office were wonderful to work with, as were all of the movers and drivers (too many to name). Thank you, Merchants!
