I had a terrible experience at the dealership after what was supposed to be a regular service and turned into a quote for $5,000+ of work that needed to be done on my low mileage fairly new VW. I decided to get a second opinion at Jeff’s import auto and Wylie saved me so much time, stress, and money. I have been going to him for all of my car needs ever since. I love that he thoroughly explains everything and loves what he does. He even put a sticker in my window so I would know when to get my next service (something the dealership didn’t even do?!). He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is working how it’s supposed to and to keep me aware of things that may need work in the future. Could not recommend enough!”
“I've been going to Auto Surgeon for a long time now. For the most part, I have had decent luck going to other local mechanics in the area, with a couple of glaring exceptions, but decided to check out Auto Surgeon since it's pretty close to where I live. And now, I won't go anywhere else. Kevin, the owner, is a fantastic guy who has always done right by me. He's an excellent mechanic who has worked on at least four of my vehicles over the years. “I had an “Oil Pressure Low, Turn Off Engin” warning light that kept popping up. Called Dowdy’s Downtown and left a message. About an hour later I got a call from Colton and explained the problem. After listening to my problem, he offered some thoughts then promptly scheduled me to bring my truck in at 8 the next morning. Once I dropped it off, I got a call about 2 hours later from Colton and it was just a sensor, and they would have it done that afternoon! They could have really taken advantage of me with a warning like that. Instead, they started with the basics and fixed the problem. Throughout the whole process Colton was communicating with me and giving me a complete explanation of what was going on and how they fixed it. Vehicle repairs are never fun, but this could have cost me 3 or 4 times more if they wanted to take advantage of me. They made sure I knew everything was under warranty and to call if I had any questions or concerns. I would give them 6 stars if I could! Amazing service and completely trustworthy. Thank you, Dowdy’s Downtown! You have a customer for life and anyone else I can send your way!”

“I had a problem with my 68 rfe transmission in my ram 3500. I made a few different calls and was referred to Tran star. The customer service was amazing super helpful in making sure I was taking the right part home with me. The price they had was 5 to 6 hundred dollars cheaper than the dealership. Plus the vavle body I got from them comes with a lifetime warranty. I believe that speaks volumes to the confidence in the part they sell. The warranty is through the part manufacturers but lifetime is life time. I would highly recommend looking to this company if you have transmission needs. 75 dollar core charge most places were charging 150 and up”

“I can’t say enough good things about Ruben and his team. They do good work, they’re super transparent, and so far all the repairs they’ve done for me were completed same day. They not only address whatever problem you brought it in for, but they do a full bumper-to-bumper inspection. The software they use for that is really cool. I got a link texted to me that contained the whole inspection report with pics/videos of anything and everything that they thought required immediate attention or could possibly require attention down the road, along the price of each action item. On each of the quoted items you simply click accept or deny, and within a matter of minutes, they are moving forward with whichever repairs you authorized. It was such a fast, efficient, and transparent way of quoting out suggested repairs for me. And I love the peace of mind of knowing that they had looked over every aspect of my car.
The one time there was some follow up work needed on one of their repairs, they got me right in and took care of it, free of charge.”

“These guys are solid. I was rebuilding the valve body on my 4L80E transmission and needed parts fast—and Idaho Transmission Warehouse delivered. They had what I needed, were quick to answer questions, and didn’t talk down to me like some other parts counters do.
It’s not just that they had the right stuff, it’s that they clearly know their inventory and how it applies in the real world. If you’re wrenching on a trans and need quality parts without a bunch of runaround, this is your place.
Bonus points for actually having knowledgeable humans behind the counter—that alone is worth a star these days.”

“Just wanted to give a shout out to the guys at Aamco on Fairview Ave. I took my car in for transmission service and they unfortunately had to rebuild my transmission. FORTUNATELY Aamco is reputable and offers a pretty decent warranty to back up their work. The service, care and communication was so great I had to write a review. The staff is extremely knowledgable and goes above and beyond to deliver quality work at a competitive price. I also had a couple other issues that they were able to fix that no other garage seemed to figure out. I cannot recommend these guys enough!”
