As has been mentioned, a lot of artifacts have been packed into this museum - displayed in a was to stimulate the imagination and interest rather than giving you a lot of signs to read. The person at the front desk was full of great stories about the town. The wooden clock collection is great, but I was taken aback by the collection of memorabilia from the local Order of the Knights of Pythias, of which I had never heard.

This is an AMAZING museum! I was blown away by the breadth and depth of artifacts and history. The museum is much larger inside than it looks from the street. The curator is incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable and has done a tremendous job. This museum is a must-see if you ever visit Bonners Ferry!

My husband and I attended the annual Boundary County Historical Society fundraising dinner, and every time I visit the BC Museum, I am AMAZED at the improvements! Volunteers have worked diligently to collect and display artifacts pertaining to the history of Boundary County, and it is fascenating! I would highly recommend visitor to the area (especially those with children), to put the museum at the top of their MUST-SEE list!

This is the best small town museum that I have ever visited. There were many many displays ranging from Native American art and tools, cottage industry (eg spinning and weaving), local history, agriculture, and local art collections. We spent about 2 hours and learned so much. The displays are really thoughtfully put together, each a sophisticated sensible labor of love. It is clear that it's a community project given the number of people contributing items to the collections. I think this museum should be a model to other small towns where museums are often just collections of stuff. This museum makes you understand how things were done, how people lived, why Bonner's ferry came to be. The entrance fee was only $2 per person. Amazingly good value. The people at the museum were friendly and great at answering questions.
