Been coming to this facility since it opened. The staff is always friendly and respectful. The facility is always clean and orderly. My kids enjoyed the pool area for many years as I do now, and I appreciate how well the lifeguards are watch over the pool area. I use the steam room & guards come check on us every 10 minutes to ensure our safety. I have been a member of almost every gym here in the treasure valley and I will always come back to the Caldwell YMCA for great experience. They have adult only locker rooms upstairs & are very good about making sure kids use the locker rooms downstairs by the pool. A lot of the people complaining in these comments are probably not locals & just like to complain about our rules here in Idaho which are meant to keep children and all of us safe. Safety over complaints is always best. My kids grew up using this facility and have nothing but pleasant memories. Thanks Caldwell Y for being amazing!

They got rid of a bunch of equipment that gets used alot in the weight area. They moved all the equipment no one wants to use to that area instead. Why you ask? To bring in new equipment called Egym, so they can charge you more money to use it. I pay over $100 per month for my membership and then get rid of the good equipment?? Then add new ones that will cost more money? Staff upstairs and gym members are angry about this. Will be canceling my membership, since they care more about making more money then giving members what they want/use. Obviously who ever is making these decisions and moving stuff around, doesnt actually go upstairs and see what people are actually using.

The one is caldwell sucks! Ill never bring my kids to that location again. The west ymca however is awesome! Friendly staff and kid friendly. They actually let the kiddies in the kiddies pool. But it is kind of small. Needs t to be bigger with more toys etc. Maybe warmer water.

Staff are friendly and always willing to help. Seems to me negative reviews are because people don’t get their way. Stuff happens that are out of the control of staff.

Love Caldwell Y. They do a great job of providing a wide variety of fitness opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, making the facility welcoming and safe for all, and contributing to the community in many ways beyond fitness.

Might be alright but it takes an hour to get checked in getting a day pass. This non profit is expensive and a waste of time.
Should've known better but we went back on a Friday and took my kids swimming. As we were leaving my 3 year old daughter ended breaking her leg when she slipped in water outside of the pool area near the vending machine. Definitely enter at your own risk!

An Aquatics instructor was incredibly rude when me and my spouse tried to use the all gender changing rooms. The all male changing rooms have little to no privacy with small children present who I'm not trying to expose myself too. This was an extremely unpleasant experience and I was unaware staff could dictate what changing stalls are appropriate for who.

My step dad came back from trying to get into the gym from this place, and the workers up front accused him of being a sex offender because of the way he was dressed, All he wanted to do was to get some workout, I'm
Assuming they were racist. Do better

The caldwell YMCA is extremely restricting and gives off a vibe that doesn't allow people to really florish or enjoy themselves here. The swimming locker rooms are awkward and dingy, their roller is so old it doesn't wring out swimwear properly anymore. I was told by two other guests that came with me the ones in Washington will autoroll them for you and have a fan. The floors are pretty disgusting in there. We all felt gross walking through there, which hasn't been the case in other places for us. The showers dont even provide hooks to hang bags or items up on. The building doesn't give off a pleasing environment. It was over all an awkward, uncomfortable expirence. The colors they use there inside the building are also quiet dull and are not pleasing to the eyes which mentally doesn't trigger excitement or joy. The hallways are odd and there's always some weird guy just standing there in the hallway that isn't a worker. It's not just me but all 4 of us who have been there at separate times felt the place wasn't as enjoyable as it could be if the ymca just made some simple changes to provide a better community expirence and it felt awkward to be there. Other than email one dedicated only to providing feedback I had scrool through reviews to find one that allows me contact someone about canceling/holding my membership. The website, even for someone who grew up with technology, is hard to navigate. The lady who spoke with me on the phone about canceling/ holding my membership was extreamly kind. In total, it was fun as a kid, but the locker rooms always felt uncomfortable. They also chose my grandpa as a child to practice a drill on with him. He was pretending to have a heart issues and they just stood around not knowing what to do. As a child, even though I was told is was a drill, it freaked me out. They should really just do drills in a classroom setting or when the pool is closed on each other. As an adult, I'm displeased. Things could be way better if the ymca put in more effort. ? It has potential but its outdated as of now. I do enjoy the safety precautions they hold. Although under parent supervision, 17yr olds should be allowed to lift weights. That's ridiculous. It is very clear with the 3.6 rating the caldwell ymca is failing because when people see the 3..they don't want to go there. That's just the way things are. With the population boom, once the recession is over, management needs to focus on how they can make things 5 stars. I really wish them better.
