From the start, everything was well put together. We kicked the day off around a campfire with coffee and breakfast, going over the plan before heading out. It wasn’t rushed at all, and you could tell they actually care about the experience, not just getting you in and out.
I was fortunate enough to harvest a mature white bison, which made the whole experience that much more special. That’s something you don’t come across often, and it’s something I’ll remember forever.
Our guide, Will Alt, was outstanding. You can tell right away he knows what he’s doing. The way he handled the hunt, from getting us into position to taking care of everything after, was done with a level of experience and precision that really stood out.
The hunt itself was exactly what I was hoping for. It wasn’t just a walk-up situation. We had to move around the property, work into position, and be patient. The animals were grouped up, which made it more challenging and made the whole thing feel like a real hunt.
What stood out just as much as the hunt was everything else. My son was with me the entire time, and they made it a great experience for him too. Being able to bring family along and have them actually enjoy it is something you don’t always get.
The ranch has a lot more to offer than just bison. There are multiple species on the property, and you can tell they’ve put a lot into building something unique out there.
After the harvest, everything was handled professionally. The animal was taken care of right there, and we were able to head back, relax, and enjoy a great meal while they prepped everything for the butcher.
You can tell there’s a bigger purpose behind what they’re doing as well, especially with the opportunities they provide for kids and veterans. That part meant a lot.
