Challis Hot Springs, located in the scenic foothills of Central Idaho, offers a peaceful retreat for guests looking to relax in its geothermal pools or enjoy time at its 46-site campground along the Salmon River. The hot springs feature clean, well-maintained pools with gravel bottoms, providing a perfect temperature for soaking. The smaller pool reaches up to 107°F, while the larger pool stays a comfortable 95°F, making it ideal for visitors of all preferences. The campground is spacious, although some sites may be tight and lack shade, particularly during hot summer months. Guests have access to the river for swimming, floating, and fishing, enhancing the outdoor experience. While the facilities may show signs of age, they are accommodating for both tents and RVs, and reservations are recommended. Entry to the park costs $7 for non-residents, with an additional $10 fee to enjoy the pools. Visitors have praised the friendly staff and the nostalgic atmosphere, often returning for the serene environment and quality service. Challis Hot Springs is a hidden gem for those seeking both relaxation and adventure in the heart of nature.

Pools are clean and well maintained. The temps in them are pretty much perfect for soaking or just enjoying the pool. The campground is very well played out and quite a good size. We loved staying there, will definitely go back!
