I’ve raved about Flight of Fancy once ago, and here I am years later doing so again. You can’t go wrong here, whether it’s sweet or savory your taste buds are craving.I visited the bakery twice during my weekend in Donnelly. On the first day, my husband and I shared a breakfast burrito (scrambled eggs, sausage, salsa, hash browns, dried, cheese, wrapped with a wheat tortilla, $7.00), a cream cheese lemon muffin ($3.00) and a huckleberry donut ($2.00). The burrito was delicious. It was generously packed with all the goods and served at the perfect temperature. Full of flavor, I didn’t even need any hot sauce. The muffin was rich, baked with a yummy ball of cream cheese in the middle. You’ll want a big glass of milk to go with this one. The huckleberry donut was absolutely out-of-this-world. The frosting was wonderfully creamy and bursting with flavors of fresh, Idaho huckleberry. If you’re a tourist, this is a MUST TRY.On day two, my husband ordered another burrito because he was so impressed with the first. I went for the breakfast sandwich ($7.00) which was unlike any I had ever had before. It’s a thick slice of delicious, homemade frittata (eggs, cheese, green chiles, salsa, sour cream, dried onion and flour ) with cheddar cheese between two slices of focaccia. I can’t say enough good things about it. Each bite was phenomenal. The frittata was incredibly well seasoned as was the focaccia. I will be returning for this sandwich and more sweet treats.The service is outstanding as well. The owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. Flight of Fancy is a GEM. I can only hope it sticks around for many, many years!

Amazing!! I made the right choice this morning to stop here and not go to the first place I had planned to try. Quiche was seasoned just right. I also had the huckleberry and cream cheese danish. Fresh huckleberry, smooth cream cheese and that croissant was crispy and crackly. It was great.Owner isn’t rude. Just direct and honestly working hard to create so many incredible bites to eat. Just be friendly and caring to the staff. We had a great little convo.

Susan, the owner is a delight.She must be the BEST Baker this side of the Mississippi.She makes a cake for my husband's birthday every year, that's the only "present" my husband wanted.Stop in...you won't be sorry.

Espresso here is amazing! Best in the area for sure! They use locally roasted beans and importantly, the correct grinder. Double shot with a splash of half and half… perfecto!

This coffee/bakery shop is my favorite place in Donnelly.You are always happy with what you order, coffee( in any form) pastries are delicious( made that morning).The owner and baker, Susan is a delight.

Year after year after year!!!! I love Flight of Fancy! So wonderful to still be able to feel welcomed and come out with a boatload of bakery goods to absolutely die for!!

While we love stopping at Flight of Fancy on our way through Donelly, we have been very frustrated that they seem to rarely be open. We left Boise by 10 so that we could intentionally stop there for lunch. According to Google, they opened at 9:00 on Friday. Nope, they were closed. I wish they would stick to their posted business hours. We have run into this frustration many times and end up having to drive another half hour to McCall.

Each time I head to Idaho and run the river for a couple days, we ALWAYS stop here, every morning they're open. Their huckleberry muffins are amazing!! Always fresh, always full of flavor. She also does some other wonderful bakery items such as the huckleberry coconut bars--another crowd-pleaser.There usually is a line to get in the front door but it is well worth the wait. It is not a full-blown 'breakfast restaurant' but if you're looking for a quick quiche, muffins, amazing huckleberry danishes and coffee, there's not a better place for miles--including anything in McCall. You'll thank me when ya go, and support a great local business with deep ties to the community.

This is a whimsical little place that serves up coffee and a simple, quick, delicious breakfast with a healthy dose of humor and sarcasm to put you on your toes. My companions enjoyed their breakfast burritos and sandwich, and I absolutely loved my huckleberry almond croissant. The charming decor absolutely matches the name, Flight of Fancy, take time to look around!
