I would VERY strongly advise against purchasing any of their used gear based on my experience. I purchased a Santa Cruz V10 demo bike "as is" (maintained by Habitat) from them in the Fall of 2022 for my husband. As Targhee's bike park opened up this season, we learned that "as is" included the following issues:- The front tire had a snake bite in it that was unsealable. This was hidden because there was a tube placed on the tubeless front tire. After removing the tube and replacing the tire, the wheel would still not hold bead.- The rear spring was tightened down so much that it was almost impossible to loosen. (Santa Cruz recommends 2 turns max). In order to adjust the sag/get a new spring we paid $40 at the shop for a new shock.- We purchased a new wheel set to address the front wheel/tire issue. Upon install, the front fork does not seat correctly and a rotor can't be installed without damaging the front fork.I emailed the shop to let them know about our experience and never heard back...hence the one star review.*We appreciate the staff there, but the demo bike purchase and lack of response from management really soured our experience to say the least.*

My bike had an annoying noise that two shops could not diagnose or fix. While riding at Targhee I decided to drop in at Habitat to see if they could take a look. Julio spent an hour methodically going over my Santa Cruz Tallboy. He took his time and determined that the seat post was the source of the noise. Problem solved and he did it while I waited so I could ride the next day. Hats off to Julio and Habitat!

Our ski vacation was in jeopardy because my ski boots crapped out on me. The first ski shop I went to needed an appointment for a custom boot fitting. I get it, but upon explaining that we weren't going to be around for days ,(especially not being able to ski!) I couldn't wait for an appointment. Went to Habitat and explained the situation. I wish I could remember his name but I'm horrible at remembering names. But the guy totally understood where I was coming from and helped me try on 6-8 pairs of boots until I found some that felt awesome. He was super friendly, super helpful, super patient, and super understanding. What an awesome dude! THANK YOU A MILLION, FRIEND!1/8/2023 / UPDATE: Nick is the name of the guy who went above and beyond to help me out. He reached out via email to thank me and I promptly emailed back to once again thank him for everything he did to help me out. I highly recommend him as the guy you want to ask for if you're ever there and need help with something. He's fantastic to work with!

On the way to Targhee, affiliated with the rental shop on the mountain, better prices, great inventory, less wait, wonderful staff. Will come here any time I want to demo gear at Targhee.

Boot purchase & fitting experience Habitat Driggs... while the customer experience started off well it didn't end well. I purchased boots, Technica Mach1 MV (mid-volume), end of season sale (not that should matter) and the manager measured my foot for a good fit. I had custom footbeds made and went skiing. While the boot felt good standing still, skiing was a different story as my feet were swimming in the boot. Going back to the store they were not happy with the footbed they initially made and suggest they need to make a new one, they also put sole-shims under the liner to lift my foot up and reduce volume. Went skiing, same swimming problem but better. New footbeds and went skiing, no different. I started my own volume reducing exercises purchasing 1/8" padding for ankle warp and inside of my foot. This helped but not completely essentially frankensteining my boots to make it work. Back to store, manager confirms the boot is the right fit and fine for MV but suggests that I might need a LV (low-volume) boot. But, since I changed my mind (no, they swim on my feet and don’t fit) they could not change or refund. But they would work with me on pricing, no shipping cost and 10% off a $800 boot... I walked out!!! I will NEVER buy another item from your store, period! I’ve had to purchase another boot and left with trying to sell a used boot.

I wish I could leave 0 stars because I just had the worst experience ever. I would rather drive an hour to another store. Scott was very rude and disrespectful. I won’t ever shop here again.

Great boot fitter, but not the best ski tuning job. I took my skis in for a major tune and my completed edges were worse than when I left them. Lots of burrs on my edges and mediocre base repair.

Love coming here when I'm in town. They always have the cutest clothes. They do carry many xs which is helpful. I found the staff friendly unlike other reviewers. They were not invasive, asked if I needed help and courteous. I enjoy the many items the offer.

BEWARE OUT OF TOWN SHOPPERSWe stopped here on a recent trip to Grand Targhee, and spent around $500 on snowboard bindings and other gear. They offered to install the new bindings for a small fee to we agreed. We paid for the bindings, some other gear, and waited for the installation to be complete.10 minutes later, the employee gives us our board, a box, and says, "You're all set, the old bindings, everything else, is in the box, have fun!"ONE PROBLEM - he still had our snowboard boot he used for the fitting, sitting on his work bench. Honest mistake. No big deal. And we headed back to Bozeman. Thinking we were "all set".Well, once we discovered the mistake, we called them and asked if they would ship it back to us.They ignored us for a few days, so we finally called back, again, and they said, "Oh, that boot is just sitting here....did you want to pay for us to ship it back?""But you made the mistake, told us we had our stuff""Yeah, but, I talked to the owners, and they say you have to pay $30 to ship it back""Even though we spent $500+ with you?"So, does Habitat have good gear? Sure. Can you really trust them? No.Are they really trying to earn your repeat business? Not at all.Jason NickellBozeman
