Had a pretty bad experience recently. It was simply an issue of an ad price not ringing correctly. The cashier could not understand what I was telling her and called over someone else who claimed she was the store manager. She would not listen and continued telling me I was wrong. I ended up leaving the product at the check stand because she would not stop talking and simply do the math. I had to call the store back to get the actual store manager's name. Same person answered the phone and still tried to convince me I was wrong. I honestly wasn't as concerned with the $20 difference as I was with being lied to and told I was wrong. I had to reach out to a neighboring store to get contact info for a senior leader. I understand staffing is tough right now, but having someone like this in a leadership role is a big concern. I've got a call into the director of operations and will get in touch with the actual store manager. I am confident it will be taken care of. I was a big box retail manager for nearly 20 years and am now a manager for a national bank. I'm not a difficult customer, but I can do basic math. Had the person taken 1 minute to listen to what I was saying we could have walked through the math and corrected the issue. If she simply didn't want to honor the advertised price she could have said that too. At least that would have been honest. Either way, I'll escalate this to the appropriate leaders and I believe they will make it right.
