Pinecrest Golf Course is a nationally recognized, 18-hole Championship municipal course that began in 1936. It is a traditional, mature old course with tree-lined fairways, small greens, very few bunkers, and only one water hazard. The course is basically flat, in a valley-type configuration. It is known for being one of the best places to play for price and conditioning, and was rated the Best Municipal Golf Course in Idaho by Golf Digest. The course is usually well-maintained, though conditions can vary with reports of punched fairways, verti-cut greens, and occasional bare spots. The rough is not too penal, providing a good challenge. A notable drawback is the lack of a driving range. Pace of play can be slow, with no marshals seen to manage it, and maintenance work can sometimes be a distraction. The staff receives mixed reviews; some are described as great and very kind, while others are noted for not showing a lot of pride, with a pro shop described as lame on a welcoming level. The clubhouse is super old, with bathrooms in the basement that are difficult to get to, though a more accessible option is available. Despite some inconsistencies, many find it a fun course and plan to return.
Awesome course and everyone made us feel special. Course had been sanded/aerated but the greens were in great shape. Nice experience!! Thank you to the staff! We'll be back! πΊπΈβοΈπ
