Without a doubt the best vet in Idaho Falls, wish I could give 10 stars. Incredible care for all my animals!

Let me tell you about why I love Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic. Several years ago, my Golden Retriever had been bitten by a dog during our evening walk. There were several gashes and a massive amount of blood loss from several lesions in his throat. My dog needed to be RUSHED to the vet ASAP. I was trying to find the 24/7 emergency vet (because of course this happened AFTER regular business hours...) and I saw a sign that said "Vet" and immediately pulled into the parking lot... but in my panicked state I had gone to the wrong clinic!!! Even worse I had pulled in a full hour after the Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic had closed. Dr. Mike Nield was walking out of the clinic and headed home for the day. I leaned out the car window and explained the emergency hoping he could direct me to the location of the 24/7 clinic. Instead Dr. Mike calmly walked back and unlocked the front door, reopened the office, and examined my dog immediately. He even stayed late to perform the surgery. Words can not express my gratitude for that kindness. He also did not charge me an "emergency exam fee" or an "after hours emergency rate" and billed me at his regular office rate-- which saved me at least several hundred dollars. I would give that man my kidney if he needed it. He truly is the best vet in Idaho Falls! I will never take my dogs anywhere else.THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you and your wonderful staff do!

I’m new in town and needed a vet for my German Shepherd. She has had some negative experiences in the past and can be nervous. Dr. Nield and his staff have been patient and gentle with her. She had her spay surgery yesterday and spent the night at the clinic. They were wonderful. Gentle, positive and supportive and Phoebe has some new friends. Dr. Nield and his staff are very knowledgeable, professional and caring. Very happy to have found them.

The staff here is amazing and the doctor will even check on your animal via text. Knowing I have the ability to text him after my dogs surgery has given me peace of mind I know I won’t get anywhere else.

Great staff, kind caring employees, FREE dental exams! We even board our very busy cattle dog with them when we travel.

Second time we’ve been here and never going back. The first time we went was for my dog’s first yearly well check and vaccines and this time (a year later) same thing. Both times the nurses were super nice and friendly but the doctor is the reason we won’t be returning. My dog was a rescue and is very nervous around new people, especially men. We walked into the building and she was already terrified. Shaking, tail tucked under, and super shy. As a preface, she’s never been aggressive with anyone. The nurse took such good care of her and weighed her, took her temp, gave her treats, and all the things before the doctor came in. My dog was doing great with the nurse, just nervous and still trembling. After a few minutes, the doctor came back in and immediately said he wanted to muzzle her “as a precaution, because she seems like she’s nervous and not doing very good.” I told him it would make her more nervous and asked if it was really necessary and he insisted. He continued to do a very quick exam, gave her her vaccines, and tried to administer her dewormer through her muzzled mouth. Obviously this didn’t work because her mouth was forced shut and the medicine dripped out of her mouth. He finally took off the muzzle and gave her the rest, asked if we had any questions, and left. I can’t believe this happened twice. The only reason we went back here a second time is because I figured the first time he was having bad day or something and there’s no way a veterinarian could treat a dog this way, like he hates dogs or is scared of them or something. He had absolutely ZERO compassion nor did he even try to calm her down or make her feel comfortable. I cannot believe it. If you have a large or nervous dog, this is not the place for you. Also, I feel like paying $129 for a 10 min appt and a few vaccines from a dirty place that doesn’t even seem to clean rooms in between patients is pretty ridiculous as well.

Oh my goodness the staff is horribly rotten. Please fur baby lovers do NOT take your fur babies to these horrible people. The staff is horribly rude and lied to my face about my little guys medication. They would rather let your pet die instead of helping.

Did a wonderful job doing a basic cleaning on my dog’s teeth. Got him in very quickly and did a great job at a reasonable price.

I was recommended to the clinic by a friend. My furbaby was having problems with something another vet couldn't figure out. Dr. Nield tried his best to make my baby feel better and tried medications that gave me 2 more months of love. She sadly was put down, the staff and doctor were very empathetic, understanding and helpful. I recommend this vet to anyone who loves their animals.I got the cutest Paw print so I could remember my baby. This was in August.

We have been going to Sunnyside Vet for several years. He has saved two of my cats lives after misdiagnoses from other vets. The first cat was not doing well and had lost a ton of weight. Another vet thought that she had cancer. We ended up bringing her to Sunnyside Vet. He diagnosed her with hyperthyroidism. I don’t know why my other vet never checked for that. It ended up giving us more time with my girl. Recently we took my 18 year old cat there. He was having bloody diarrhea and not doing well. He had been having stomach issues and was vomiting daily for many years. My other vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. Dr. Nield at first thought he had cancer and we considered putting him down. Then he thought that maybe he had pancreatitis and tested for that. It was a strong positive. After treatment for that we are delighted that our kitty is doing much better. Amazingly, he hasn’t vomited ever since! We are so thankful for Dr. Nield for talking such good care of our kitties.

I'm not even sure where to begin but I can tell you this is the WORST vets office I've ever been to. My dog was scheduled to have his teeth cleaned, pretty routine right? Apparently not here, my husband asked if when he was there all day if the vet could LOOK at one place on his stomach, we assumed it was just a mole but figured it couldn't hurt to have the vet glance at it. He said this 3 times to the lady at the front desk, so there should not have been any miscommunication. When we went to pickup our dog they had REMOVED two moles without our permission and never even looked at the place we had asked. It gets better from here though, the front desk lady, who decided to start being rude said she must have heard him wrong and it was a misunderstanding, seems to me if you had documented what was asked you wouldn't be trying to guess later on. They refunded our portion for all the extra SURGERY we did not ask for. Fast forward a few days and the pain medication they prescribed, which my dog wouldn't have needed if they actually had listen and just cleaned his teeth, he had a horrible reaction to and had to be taken to an emergency vet center and receive fluids and other treatments, there now is a worry he has a stomach perforation or ulcer which is a common issue with that pain medicine. Did Sunnyside bother to warn us of those side effects or what to look for? No, of course not or we wouldn't have given it to him. So now a routine teeth cleaning has turning into hundreds of medical bills and my dog still being sick a week later. The vet wouldn't even bother to speak with us when we came to pick him up. Really disgusting there are offices out there like this, our animals can defend themselves or tell us what all has happened when they are there, if you care about your animal PLEASE do not take them here.I also want to address the comment below. We do have insurance and we were told we would be billed a separate office visit for him to look at the places, we then said please bill the OFFICE visit separately as the teeth cleaning was not covered. It's a huge difference in communication to be told you were signing for his teeth to be cleaned and then for a SURGERY. They could not produce any paperwork when we picked up showing we signed for surgery to be done as that simply isn't the case, it actually said on what we sign it would be a office visit to check. So that's incorrect, the office lady admitted she misunderstood, rather large mistake to try and cover up and put back on your client.

They accommodated us last minute with a same day appointment. All the staff went above and beyond to help me with my dog since I had my very wiggly toddler with me. The vet tech was super sweet to my dog, who was nervous about being there. I noticed they were aware of and accommodating to another patient who was super nervous. Very impressed with our care and I will probably have them be my primary vet from now on!

The care and professionalism by the Veterinarians and staff at this facility have helped our aging lab through some harsh times. We have worked with 4 other small animal veterinary offices, and this one has been the best experience and most cost effective. The team here meshes well, are compassionate, and willing to help. In this day and age, that mix is getting harder and harder to find.
