Louis was very helpful with services was very respectable. The help was immaculate. He understood his work and was able to help in a very nice manner I would recommend this service as one of the best Uhalls I have ever came across very helpful. Prices are at a fair amount. I would like to thank The assistant manager Louis for being very kind and patient with me. His staff seemed very well managed and would recommend this store location for anyone who is looking to transfer things.

After renting two Penske trucks in 2020 to drive from CO to ID, I agreed to drive a U-Haul from ID to CO a friend rented. I was surprised at the difference in experiences. Both companies swapped trucks on us at the last minute, but the similarities stop there. Both Penske trucks had cruise control, power door locks and an auxiliary input on the radios. The U-Haul truck was void of such creature comfort amenities. 700 miles of freeway driving without cruise control and music from a personal device made the trip seem even longer than it was. Advantage Penske. Penske rentals are unlimited miles. U-Haul sets some arbitrary maximum and charges $.50 per mile overage. Advantage Penske. A huge U-Haul oddity is the way they handle the fuel used. Penske has a 'full out' - 'full in' policy, U-Haul has a 'whatever' policy. You could pick up the truck with NO FUEL in the tank, and the have to guess how much to put in the tank to arrive with the same amount as when picked up. At $4 per gallon, one does not want to return a truck with an extra 10 or 15 gallons left over. Advantage Penske. When the U-Haul truck was picked up, the interior was filthy. We had to wipe down the surfaces with disinfectant wipes. The steering wheel alone used a full wet-wipe. The Penske trucks were delivered cleaned. Advantage Penske. As a heads-up, check the nylon straps holding the car tires to a dolly. Part way into the trip, one had completely fallen off. The staff had connected the car to the dolly, but the straps must not have been fully tightened for the strap to slide off the tire. They charge $25 for this 'service'. Epic FAIL. Now for the U-Haul drop off location in CO...unattended gated lot. What good is having posted business hours if there is no one there anyway? Cannot return a truck until you call and wait 20-30 minutes for someone to show up. They believe truck rentals are passive income. Same owner has multiple unmanned locations. Advantage Penske. The U-Haul price started lower than Penske, but U-Haul then nickeled and dimed my friend to the point that it ended up more than my Penske rentals. Again advantage Penske.

Worst service I have ever had. Reserved a trailer a month ago. Long story short we now have no trailer. Do not waste your time with this business.

Reserved a trailer a month ago to pickup Sunday. No trailer for us on Sunday. Said come back Monday. Monday is here and we have been told the only way to get a trailer is to go an hour out of our way to pick it up in a different city. I do NOT recommend this store to anyone.

Uhaul is Uhaul; however, be cautious, this location is dishonest about their rental options to milk you for money. They also don't maintain their lot well; watched someone fall hard and crack their head last week.

Underhanded and unreliable. Reserved a pickup truck to haul equipment for eclipse activities. They called the day of my scheduled pickup to tell me my truck would not be available, with no other options due to the heavy demand. They made no offer to find a similar vehicle from neighboring franchises and disputed my $50 guarantee. Just left me stranded. DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION.

Jordan at this location was terrible! He took 25 minutes to hook up the trailer and then we had to unhook it because he didn't check to make sure it was functional. It wasn't. He also told us we had to purchase and ball for our hitch and we would be able to return it. When we tried to return it less than an hour later he refused. Luckily the manger agreed to refund us the money which is why I am still giving them two stars. I wouldn't recommend this place, it was a bad experience and there are several other U-Haul places in town.

Carl, the general manager, went above and beyond to help me! We had another moving company cancel our reservation on a truck, last minute, and Carl price matched, and went out of his way to find a truck for us to rent! I 100% recommend going here!

We had a terrible experience with U-Haul U-Boxes. Both San Diego (El Cajon) and Idaho Falls were terrible. I don't know if long distance moves are ever easy, but they made it a nightmare! We shipped 5 U-Boxes from San Diego to Idaho Falls. Bill took a week off work and we drove to Star Valley, Wy to receive the U-Boxes in Idaho Falls and tow to Star Valley. Gas, 2 nights motels, RV site in Star Valley. When we arrived in Star Valley- nobody at either U-Haul location or their customer service center could locate our boxes! For 2 days, we couldn't locate them! We were told they didn't ship, because there was outstanding balance...NOT, plus why the hell wouldn't they phone to get their money??? Then, they couldn't find "Carl" the manager of the Idaho Falls facility. After 2 days of phone calls, our boxes were checked in at Idaho Falls and we arranged to tow them to Star Valley. When we arrived at Idaho Falls U-Haul, the young man struggled with the box loading equipment and told us we could go do what ever we needed & come back. Really??? This is what I came here to do!!! We asked for s breakfast recommendation- he suggested Denny's. We drove around and found a great diner that celebrates centurions! Lots of old ranchers and great breakfast! Much more fun & character than Denny's. Anyway... We went back and 2 U-Boxes were loaded on the trailer. (Only 2 boxes fit the trailer) We towed to Star Valley, unloaded 1 box to find the other box was loaded so the door faced the other box and could not be opened!!! We returned to Idaho Falls, the young man was very apologetic. He removed the empty box, fixed the box that was incorrectly loaded and loaded a 2nd box. After the 4th trip to Idaho Falls (5 boxes would take 3 trips, plus return empty boxes), they overcharged us by $681.31 for a month of storing the 5 boxes, which they never stored! That's a lot of mistakes! Absolutely no attempt at service recovery!
