Henrys Lake State Park is a great place for anglers, with a beautiful high mountain lake filled with cutthroat, brook and cut-bow hybrid trout. The park has nature trails for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, wildlife and wildflower viewing. It is located near Yellowstone National Park and has campsites on the shoreline of the 6,000-acre lake. The campsites are well spread out and have nice facilities, including showers. The park offers beautiful sunsets and great views. Visitors can see wildlife, including moose, and enjoy fishing on the lake shore. The park is open year-round and has a day pass fee of $7. It is a beautiful place with lots of room per camp site, and visitors love it, saying it will blow your mind. The park has RV sites, some with electric, and is a great place to stay while visiting Yellowstone.

We stopped in for a quick look at the lake which was completely frozen! It was amazing, I’ve never seen a frozen lake, let alone walked on one. The lady at the gate house was so sweet and helpful, I’d love to visit again just to say thank you to her.

We were only passing by the entrance to the state park while driving to Yellowstone. We quickly took some photos of the entrance and sunrise along the Medal-of-Honor Highway (Route 20).
