After practicing a few other martial arts, I have settled into the Bujinkan. I enjoy the depth of the teachings of Muir Sensei, The history of how the techniques have become, as well as learning the perspectives of Japanese culture. There is also a wide variety of weapons to train which make the learning experience challenging and fun for me. After studying Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Kung Fu, this is where I choose to be.

My kids have attended this dojo for quite some time now, and I have nothing but positive things to say. Shane Sensei is simply excellent at what he does. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he is also very patient with and respectful toward all his students. It’s clear they aren’t just dollar signs to him. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching my children progress, and I look forward to the growth they will experience in the years to come.Ultimately, if you’re looking to begin or further your training in the Japanese martial arts, this is the place!

Wonderful dojo, Teaching my son Japanese while also respect and self defense. I loved when the kids were taught how to escape "a stranger (adult) taking them somewhere they should not be taken" it may be scary to think that situation could happen, but glad my son is learning what to do. Thank you

Bujinkan is a great and unique dojo where you can learn an art that is both traditional and practical. Since joining learned many things such as unarmed combat, weaponry, and philosophy. Had experience in several other martial arts such as kenpo, karate, jujutsu, kendo, and escrima. This has been the best school I've found.

* 6 month UPDATE* This style has all the hallmarks for traditional martial arts. You are given physical and philosophical points for growth. Speaking of tradition you are given rich explanations and stories that highlight the concepts and give the lineage life. Classes are fun and informative, the students are friendly and helpful. The art uses different weapons like knifes, swords, staves, and even some exotic weaponry. Overall an excellent experience.

April 2022 will be my kids fourth year of Bujinkan with Shane Sensei and The Living-Warrior Dojo. When my son started, he was uncoordinated and unsure of himself. Sensei Shane has always been patient and understanding with how my son learns. He also doesn’t let him give up and knows when to give him a little push to achieve more than he believed he could. We also have a daughter training at the dojo. Martial arts isn’t her thing but we saw the value in the training and wanted her to learn how to defend herself if the need ever arose. My kids have learned respect, perseverance, patience, determination, self confidence, and cooperation in a safe, encouraging environment. We love that there are no competitions, just a growth mindset. I like to think of this dojo as a Mr. Miyagi type training instead of Cobra Kai. Respect and discipline are taught but in the way of mindfulness and understanding. Hands down the best dojo and Sensei around.

My step-son loves this place!! He has been training with Sensei Shane for around 18 months and he has learned a ton! We love the culture of respect and discipline that the Sensei teaches our boy and we can see the fruits of this positives examples at home! Having him training at the dojo has been a great experience!

I am fairly new to Bujinkan or really any martial art. I am very pleased and really enjoy the experience, the growth in my physical and emotional health. Shane Sensei is an excellent leader along with the other leaders I've trained with at seminars.

This martial art and this dojo is a one of a kind that you won't find in the valley because of the training as well as the warrior philosophy behind it. shane sensei has taught me more than just the techniques but the philosophy and meaning of them. This is why i highly recommed this martial arts and shane sensei dojo.

Shane Sensei is such an expert in not just the movements but the history of the Bujinkan. I love learning here and have found this to be my favorite of all the martial arts I have ever tried. I have found the one I want to study for the rest of my life. Its well balanced, and rich in history. I would 100% Recommend this dojo.

I went here for a trial class, and to meet the sensei face to face beforehand. The sensei seems knowledgeable in the Bujinkan, and has experience training with the art's current leader in Japan. The sensei and the students made me feel welcomed, and during my session I felt comfortable being one of the only female students in the room. I also appreciate that the senior students were patient, but also didn't hold back in terms of performing the techniques we were learning that day or addressing my mistakes. This meant a lot to me, since I've been years out of practice. I like this school and would recommend it.

My son has been here for about 1.5 years now and has progressed but not before he's earned it which I am happy for. We've been very happy with Shane's teaching and plan to keep our son there for the foreseeable future. He goes through the techniques but also teaches kids to show respect, listen, and learn. He's firm but also patient. I wish I had his level of patience. ? He's also VERY fairly priced. Compared to the other options in the valley. Highly recommend. ??

We are new but love this studio. The instructor is wonderful with the kids and keeps a small size class so he can focus on each student. The martial arts and life lessons are great for our 6 year old as well. The teacher also takes COVID protocols very seriously which is fantastic. The pricing is also very affordable for this kind of training compared to similar programs.
