Zero stars….. my sales person was Allisha and she was horrid ! I did the pre-approval through the app, I had an agent texting with me who said they added my trade in to my account and everything was set up. Well turns out the lady didn’t link it and I had walked around for hours only to find out my options were extremely limited. People were in and out while it took us almost 6 hours just to do the paperwork she was so slow. She was very passive aggressive and made the whole experience terrible. She kept treating me and my family like thieves…. I gave her the keys to my trade in and every time she got up she made a scene about making sure she had both sets in her hand, she wouldn’t allow us to get my stuff out of the trade in car until it was behind their gates, she was ridiculous. On top of all that I think there needs to be a limit on online shoppers.I fell in love with a vehicle and as I was sitting behind the wheel someone bought it online and it was no longer available. Online shoppers should not have priority and there should be some sort of approval prior. I feel I was robbed of a happy fun experience because allisha was trash.

My transaction with Car Max was simple, fast & very impressive! The agent who helped me, Max Duran, was personable & efficient. He handled everything with professional skill while maintaining a friendly demeanor. I was surprised that the entire process only took an hour & was also grateful for the complimentary Lyft ride home. This was my first experience with Car Max but won't be my last.

Great Experience with Carmax in Boise.
Associates were super polite and patient, and Mike the manager helped to resolve a critical issue with the car we wanted to buy. We ended up buying a different car from them, with good support by the team.

I'd been to the Boise Carmax a few months ago with my son. Seemed like a fair and painless process. I went in to the Boise Carmax on Thursday to get an appraisal on my old pickup. The staff was super. Aliya made the process smooth and easy and I got a fair offer. My wife was needed for signatures to complete the process, so we came back Friday. We also brought our old Subaru for appraisal. Aron got us finished us through the truck process, then the Subaru, as well. Saturday, my wife decided she was interested in a Hyundai Tucson Nline on the Carmax lot. Off we went to Boise Carmax, third day in a row. Greeted by Max at the door, but he was off the hook, my wife saw Aron and recognized him. The test drive sold her on the Hyundai. I had other things to do and left her in Aron's care to appraise her 4Runner. So, back we went on Sunday to close the deal and ambush Max. He was great! I give the staff 5 stars! The processes seem a bit slow at times. But, consider all the legalities, etc. involved with vehicle sales and it's kinda to be expected. Carmax will be our first stop whenever we're selling or buying a vehicle! Thanks

I test drove one vehicle at this Carmax location, then scanned online for another of the same make/model with lower mileage and more specific features I wanted. Had it shipped (from a neighboring state), took it for an overnight test when it arrived, and had wrapped up a completed purchase about a week after I walked in the door for the first test drive. This process also involved a trade-in, for which the Carmax offer was several thousand above other trade-in offers (initially obtained online; the on-site inspection was quick and did not change the offer). All in all, I was able to purchase exactly the vehicle I was looking for, through a very smooth process with 0% of the usual aggravation baked into buying/selling/trading vehicles. I worked with a few representatives during this process; all were great and there were no handoff hangups.

Update: Elliot at this location was very helpful. I was able to be reimbursed for the repair due to his help.
However the Carmax support agent and Assurant are refusing to have a conversation with me about why the claim was initially denied when the terms and Maxcare website state it should have been covered. Assurant (warranty company) claims they reimbursed me as an exception. That means future customers will have their claims denied when they should have been approved. I have asked Carmax customer support about 10 times to tell me if the claim SHOULD have been covered based on the information in the terms and conditions and their Maxcare website. They refuse to answer my question and direct me to Assurant who says I am wrong and won't explain why and has stopped responding.
I purchased a Sorento from this dealership and purchased their Maxcare extended warranty. The rules on the maxcare website state that any aftermarket part installed prior to me purchasing the vehicle is covered. Last week they advised the warranty company not to cover the electrical/lighting issue caused by the tow brake module that was already installed when I bought the vehicle. I am now out $900 because they refuse to honor the warranty they sold me and that I am paying for every month.
I already filed a complaint with the Idaho Attorney Generals office and will continue to file complaints until this is resolved.

My husband wanted to look at a particular car and test-drove it. It wasn't as responsive as he had hoped, so he asked if he could test- drive another car and the saleswoman stated, "Pick it carefully because you can only test drive two cars." We left without making a purchase.
