This is by far the worst business I’ve ever worked with and the weirdest, most incompetent people I’ve ever met.
Darcia and Joe are the dramatic duo that would work each other up to an upset and turned my taxes in to a nightmare. They held my taxes for so long I was working on the next years when they finally decided to submit them. Getting them to communicate is impossible through any source, I tried calling, texting, and emailing. They made a mistake and my taxes were denied, I still didn’t hear anything back; they just sat on it. When I rightfully showed frustration, Joe started making comments on my personal life and how I was raised even though he knew nothing about me other than my taxes. The final signing of papers I had to go in, coldly greeted by Darcia we went to her office. She (I’m not kidding) slammed papers and a pen on desk crossing her arms and legs scowling at me, with theatrical mannerisms I could only describe as a child throwing a tantrum. I’ve never seen an adult act that way. This is all after I had already paid them, I paid at the first meeting which was a huge mistake. Just use turbo tax, so much easier and you don’t have to deal with this odd group. If you have an intricate tax situation they couldn’t help you here anyways, go anywhere else!

I think if your taxes are simple and straightforward, these are your guys. Ours are not, and we met with Joe to go through ours in detail to give him an understanding of how complex they are before 2023 rolled around... I won't go into the detail of all that was incorrect, the amount they said they charge vs. what they actually charged, or how on tax day they stopped responding to us.... honestly, we could've forgiven most of that or the mistakes if it wasn't for this offices utter lack of communication. I felt like a stalker trying to get these guys to call me back to fix the taxes they messed up. By the way, it is December and I am still receiving letters about my screwed up taxes. Luckily, I found someone that easily pointed out all the mistakes this team made and finally have a true tax partner moving forward. Again, straightforward taxes, Joe is probably your guy, but if you can't do your taxes on TurboTax, I'd stay away.

Joe has been doing our taxes for 13 yrs and is amazing. He has helped us get back so much money that places like h&r block would always miss. First year we went to him we got a extra$3400 from the previous year that h&r block missed.

We can’t even tell you how happy we are with Darcia at JA Welker. Besides being knowledgable, professional and ethical, she takes the time to explain to her clients how they can avoid paying unnecessary taxes and save thousands. As businesses owners, we were surprised at how much our previous accountants had not explained to us. We will be with Darcia for as long as she is an accountant.

Joe prepared my 2021 tax return. I have 2 businesses, and he seemed to offer good strategies, so I was excited to work with him. He ended up making a mistake on my return, leaving off a huge amount of expenses and not even accounting for depreciation on my rental property. Then he wanted me to pay for the amendment to be prepared! Now it’s been almost a year and I don’t even have the refund for the amendment.After not receiving a response to an email in January about this, I decided to get a new accountant. Now Joe is trying to charge me $1075 just to get the depreciation schedule so my new accountant can continue with it. This is 3X what my return cost to prepare in the first place! Extortion?? Ridiculous.
