I love this place! Mike is an extremely knowledgable gentleman, full of insight and praise about not only his products but his artists who design them with careful precision. It's a quintessential Main St gift shop that I hope lives a much longer life in downtown Moscow. Wonderful glassworks, craft wood tools, paintings, jewelry, chocolates, and much more fill this small space with lots of craftsmanship to appreciate.

High quality items in this lovely shop. Unique works from artists and crafts persons all over the northwest. Like visiting an art museum and yet the items are for sale!

Poor quality, and abrasive customer service. I’ve had 3 pairs of glass earrings, they all fell apart within a month, and I was unable to return them. Recently tried to return an unopened gift, and was met with insulting customer service...the artist is one of the more rude and abrasive people I’ve encountered in retail. I like to support local artists, but will never go here again. I suggest visiting only if you want poorly made “junk” gifts for someone you don’t want to spend much money on.

Wonderful. There is no other shop quite like this one in the area. Beautiful artisan glass works, jewelry, scarves, clocks and much more. This is where you go to buy a gift for your friend who has everything and appreciates beauty and quality. You can find items for smaller prices and stunning beautiful things for hundreds of dollars. The owner is a kind man and very accommodating and knowledgeable.

Not worth it! The glass earrings fall apart within weeks (I've tried 3 pairs now). Terrible, abrasive customer service from the artist when I tried to return an unopened gift on a separate occasion. They would not allow a return, despite the policy printed on the receipt. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Michael is a wonderful, skilled glass artist who does remarkably complex pieces and is also wonderful person. I always get compliments on jewelry pieces I own that he has made. When I describe the intricate processes involved in a piece, people are so impressed. His eye for other artists is impeccable and he has a beautiful gallery. The prices are reasonable, with many things fairly inexpensive. We drive down a couple times a year from Spokane to visit and it’s a lovely drive, too. You won’t be disappointed by a visit to Essential Art Gallery & Fine Gifts!

Not only is Michael McCoy a skilled artist and craftsman, but he has a fine eye for other artists' work in his gallery. A wonderful place in Moscow ID!

It's like entering a gallery, and the gift shop you CAN afford! Wonderful, interesting art and glass work, with large fireplace tiles, earrings (at any price level @ $10 and up), some local items, some nationally known artists. I love the glass salmon and trout in action, in realistic poses. Don't miss this shop! You will leave with a gift, maybe for yourself. (Did I miss telling you about the incredible chocolates?)
