Moved to the area and wanted as close of a community-linked bank as possible. I've had no problems and their mobile app is fantastic (biometric log-in is slick) and very intuitive. Online banking is great with bill-pay and everything else I needed. My teenage sons' accounts are all linked to mine and it makes transferring, saving, and depositing a breeze.

Beyond dissatisfied. Getting a loan should not be that difficult with near perfect credit. Planning on switching banks

Fantastic customer service both in the branch and online. Also a good app for mobile. We have multiple accounts and a mortgage through Latah Credit Union and absolutely happy with this bank.

Never been more dissatisfied with a credit union. Way to pushy and odd behaviors. Highly recommend against.

It's a shame. They are trying to squeeze money out of you for a checking account. Worst credit union in town.

Always helpful and quick service. Was pleasantly surprised when I got an auto loan that their interest rate beat USAA which I would have bet against.

Not only does Latah Credit Union tirelessly support their local community, they truly have some of the nicest and most genuine people working there. I personally wanted to thank LCU and one of my favorites, Tara Heath, for helping my husband so much. After a long and stressful fiasco with Bank of America after my husband’s father died, I told him that he would never get that terrible treatment with a local credit union like LCU. He didn’t have to show his father’s death certificate 1 million times, he wasn’t put on hold for hours, he didn’t come home nearly in tears. In fact he came home smiling and said that was easy and took less than an hour! This review is long overdue but I finally had a moment and just wanted to say you guys are truly local and truly inspiring to me.

What can I say, I’m sold! It’s a union in Moscow!

Bottom line: don't bank here unless you want to be hassled. If you need to do shared branching, be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen. You are not allowed to use the drive up teller; you must physically come into the branch. But, only between the hours of 9:00 - 11:00 am and 2:00 - 5:00 pm. That's right, if you arrive outside of those hours, they refuse to do your transaction. It gets even worse if something goes wrong. I experienced a malfunction using the ATM (again, needed to do some shared branching and that's only allowed during certain hours so forced to use the ATM). The ATM generated the following error message "This transaction cannot be completed at this time". This occurred after I inserted $120 cash into the machine. It provided no receipt and the money was not deposited to my account. The ATM stole my $120! I tried to call and speak with some to clear this several times, during business hours, each time the phone would ring and ring but no one would pick up. Finally got through to someone and got it sorted out which required another trip to Latah CU. When I asked WHY this error happened they basically said, "Oh, it's just one of those things". I asked, "So, no one is even going to look into this, maybe pull the logs and run some diagnostics on the ATM?" Sure enough, the answer is no. No one cares. I never even got an apology or any recognition of the inconvenience. I literally can't wait until that new credit union opens up next to the U of I.

Latah Federal Credit Union consistently has failed to make a loan to me even most recently with an A credit rating over 720 and low debt to income ratio of about 25%. Instead, other institution have stepped in every time. Most recently they even refused to make a secured loan until I posted this review and did make a $2,700 secured loan. I am consistently able to get loans elsewhere such as P1FCU, WSECU and LCCU - including credit cards and mortgage. Recently Latah turned me down but I got about 30k in unsecured loans elsewhere and another 18k in secured loans. Oh well, I hoped for a better business relationship with Latah since they were the first institution I applied for a loan with many years ago. I also paid off multiple loans with them. I have wasted credit inquiries multiple times with this credit union. I'm not sure if I'll try next time. May look elsewhere. Something isn't right with their review process.

I visited this branch today to try and access my account via shared banking. My CU wasn't a part of the shared banking network, so I was directed to the ATM. The transaction with the ATM popped up an error message. When inquiring help from the tellers, as opposed to coming out to the ATM to help with the transaction or help find a solution, I was simply told by the teller, from behind her station, as she wiped her face, my card is "wrong"... nothing else. I'm not certain if "card is wrong" is technical terminology, or if that was her way of informing me she was not willing to help alleviate the error message at the ATM. Regardless, this could have been an opportunity to gain a new member, as my CU is not in Moscow. However, I will not be returning to, or conducting any business at Latah FCU. I'm shocked at the poor customer service and unwillingness to help that this branch provided.

An absolute joke. My wife has had an account there for 15 year's along with first home loan. This past year they have changed so much around it almost made it impossible for us to bank there.

Great customer service and quick follow through by staff. I switched to Latah Credit Union from Potlatch No1 Federal Credit Union for 10 years. P1FCU customer service has noticably declined while Latah customer service has expanded and consistently exceeded my expectations over the last several years.

A nightmare if you move out of the area with an existing account. We moved to the Boise area and still had loans with Latah Credit Union. My wife has called in many times to make payments over the phone. Until one day a rep said my wife wasn't on the account and wouldn't allow her to make anymore payments so I had to call in. But the next month she made a payment just fine. Apparently this was a policy that some credit union employees followed and others didn't. I called and told them they've been letting my wife pay in the past and they said that wasn't possible. I ask for the credit card on file for past payments and low and behold it's my wife's. But nope, I'm wrong. So I tell Latah Credit Union I moved out of town and asked how I can get my wife officially added to the account so she can make payments through the employees that are hard-liners versus the ones that aren't and I was told she has to physically come to the branch, which is 300+ miles away. I pointed out the large geographical gap and asked if there was a way to mail a form, email, fax, or any other option to add my wife without having to make a 300+ mile each way trip. Nope. No other option despite my persistence. I am a member of another credit union, Spokane Teachers Credit Union, and when I asked to add my wife to an account I had with them there was no problem. They emailed me a couple forms for us to sign and she was added to my account. It's not that easy with Latah Credit Union. Latah Credit Union is absolutely unaccommodating. Don't they realize members move and still need to manage existing accounts? Don't bother with these guys if you can get away with it. They've been a huge headache for us. Sure your wife can pay the monthly payment, nope your wife can't pay, yep your wife can pay...freaking get your employees on the same page at a minimum. Preferably think about members that might have to move out of the area and provide some reasonable accommodations.
