nice employees, items are well curated but can be a bit overpriced. they definitely value having name brand items, so if you are in the market for those then this is a great place.but selling clothes with them can be difficult because they only do by appointment only and a limit of clothes (not like other places where they take walk-ins with no limit). the max they give you per trip is $40 cash or $80 in store credit. again only brand name stuff and trendy clothes/accessories will get picked so anything less will be denied.overall a nice shopping experience but it’s not like a thrift store with low pricesedit: i sold my clothes there a few times and it was the same ($40 cash/$80 store credit) every time regardless. even a barely used patagonia winter coat ($300 new) got chosen and they wouldn’t give me more for it

Sell your used clothes here if you like, but expect to get about 5% of what they're worth, and see them go on the rack for way more. Nice place to buy clothes, though.Edit: contrary to the business owner's spicy reply, I didn't bring underwear in maybe they thought I was someone else. I brought in a number of expensive items, but was offered very little. That's okay, I'm reviewing accurately. But I think lying (in an intentionally embarrassing way) is a really ugly thing, even for a shop trying to look good online. Bummer to see this. I do appreciate the explanation of pricing, though. Thank you for that :)

You can always find SOMETHING at storm cellar. It probably won't be what you're looking for, but who can say no to duckling socks?

I used to love the Storm Cellar, I could always count on finding something and going there was fun and explorative. The vibe has changed. Sure, there are quite a few designer tags, but a lot of the clothes are not very appealing or are blah. More importantly, though - they don't bother to acknowledge other humans. No "hello," not even a glance or acknowledgement that you've taken the time to walk through their door, much less, "how are you today?" Or, "thanks for visiting!" In fact, they don't even steal a sideways glance. It's been that way the last 5-10 times I've visited. The male co-owner was always a little cold, hard to get a word out of, and definitely not a genuine smile, but now they seem angry. Even if he's not a people person, he needs to set the tone. You're doing what you love, enjoy yourselves, love the people who keep you working! No one smiles, no one laughs, and if they do it seems forced and rigid. And, the appointment to bring things in? How about tagging a bag with a phone #, examining the items, following up with a text/call and giving 48 hours to pick any up or forfeit it? Not everyone schedules their life 1-2 weeks out around the S.C., for example someone who works in the area when they're on call for their job. I walked in once not knowing about their new appointment policy and had ONE pair of boots - the girl was sitting on her stool, there weren't any clothes on the counter in front of her, but you'd have thought I walked in and gut punched them, it was the biggest inconvenience that I didn't follow their new policy. Since Moscow is a turn-over town the tone they've set may work for them, but if not for the changing population, this wouldn't be a sustainable business practice.

I had one of the worst experiences with them. The lady at the back rejected all of my clothes( most of them had their tags on) with a reason that it is not what we sell! I had a look the clothes that they were selling! Most of them were in bad condition! And she rejected mine saying that its not in fashion!I will suggest all my friends, to never visit this place again!

I said i have disabilities and the lady at the back said they didn't want to work with me if i couldn't trust them at face value. I tried to establish trust and they rejected me and my attempts to communicate with them. I wish they fostered a safer and more inclusive atmosphere like the one they advertise.

It's sad to see what used to be such a good quirky store sell out so hard. I used to be able to come here for unique pieces, I used to have fun shopping but now all you can find is overpriced Shein. Don't expect them to take any of your pieces unless you bought them yesterday from an online fast fashion brand. Sorry guys, wish you could be better.

Used to sell here when they split 50-50 upon sale, now they just give you an offer for your clothes and shoes. They took 5 things from my bag, and offered me $12 in cash for EVERYTHING (including a vintage oxford Leather shoes) Wow!!! That's profiteering, is it not? Took my stuff and won't be coming back!

After getting no information as to what kind of items they were looking for, I stayed up till 3am going thru all my stuff washing folding and pressing. Washing all shoes etc. I finally get two heavy totes loaded up and got to Moscow. The farmers market was in session so I had to park forever away and carry these very heavy totes in. The girl barely smiled and said to come back in 20 minutes. 80% of my items had literally never been worn. There was a wide range of variety. I came back to see she accepted like 4 things of the 80 plus items. Of corse one of them was a never been worn knee high pair of boots that cost $300. I got $30 for all 4 items. For hours upon hours of preparations to try to adhire to a store that doesn’t have a phone . I’d never been there. I don’t live in town. I cried the whole way home. It was all a big waste of time. Luckily a different place took my items last minute and said that she highly doubted the girl even looked in the box of clothes. I tend to agree as everything was pretty much in the same location I had it. So she must have just glanced at the shoe bin.

every time i go in this store and buy something its haphazardly thrown into a plastic bag with little care to what happens to it and half the time the item i buy is scratched up or this time even shattered by the time i make it home. i dont think its that hard to wrap something in newspaper or even plastic bags, every store in downtown is able to do it even with the smallest of purchases and i dont even have to ask. I think its silly asking someone if they want something for breakable items and just chucking them in a plastic takeout bag and calling it a day.

This is my wife's favorite consignment shop in Moscow. I've probably stopped here more times than I can count and have always found something worth getting. Will be buying again!

Very cute local boutique. The stuff is more expensive then thrifting at goodwill but the quality of the items can't be matched.

Cute Colorful but Void of True Moscow StyleI find the clothing nice and colorful and its decorated very cute inside. I do feel like they only sell a certain type of style, which is ok. But a wider style scope would be cool. I dont really care for the cookie cutter clothes they have in there now. And they are over flowing with stuff so they could definitely use to just take the consignment.I haven't done the consignment, but I had a friend who sold lots of clothes there. Some of their prices are awesome, while some of them make you roll your eyes.As they are occupying the old Goodwill location, it's a little sad. So many people are opening businesses here that aren't from here and dont carry the respect and love of True Moscow, so I typically avoid those stores, and unfortunately this is one of them. My friends mother brought it a little porcelain statue and they were all grossed out and shook their heads at it...its the goddess who is the Starbucks logo. *sigh

Would spend more money here but they sold me a record with no record and would not return crazy church folks but the irony of this fact is that they are church folks w rude customer service and they scammed me w an empty record like a London street seller criminal, so how does this make sense. It doesn’t make sense, because it’s a mental illness of religion and scammers. Therefore, I don’t go in here. I can tell it’s a mentally ill church run joint because they are even trying to theologically debate some of the valid bad reviews. Gross. If they hadn’t sold me a record case w no record I would probably still be a customer.
