Store manager was rude and very unfriendly

I took a MacBook that is still under Apple care + to VGH. It had a space bar that was being sticky. They “fixed” it once just by running a little tool under the spacebar and unsticking it. However the next day the problem resumed. I took it back to VGH (about two weeks after the first fix, about three weeks since the problem started) and they told me it would be 299$ to fix, even with AppleCare plus. They also concluded something was “spilled” onto the MacBook from one tiny droplet that was on the spacebar. I knew for a fact I never “spilled” anything on the MacBook, as well as the fact that I clean the keyboard frequently. Whatever that speck was, I guarantee happened after the spacebar started sticking. After trying to explain to the employee that I KNOW that speck occured after the problem started happening, and add in the fact that when I took it to them originally they never said there was any liquid damage, they kept telling me if they have to work on the macbook it will be 299$ to fix. I asked who is the person who concludes that it was liquid damage vs. incidental damage, they told me they are the ones who get to make that call. Well, there was no way I was going to leave my macbook with them if they already were concluding liquid damage without even doing a bit of work.
I sent my Macbook into Applecare via mail. Not only did applecare get my laptop fixed and sent back to me before VGH would have... The professionals at Apple concluded NO liquid damage. Wow, shocker. Don't take your products here. Mail them into Apple. Had I listened to the VGH "pro".. I would have spend 300 dollars on a "liquid damaged" macbook. It really is a shame too. Don’t ever waste your time going to this place. Brought my computer in, was in the store for a week, and they didn’t even look at my computer until Monday of the following week. Worker also would refuse to give me a day of when to expect for my computer to be ready or any updates whatsoever. Disgrace of a place, save yourself the time.

This place sucks, do not ever consider bringing your computer repaired here. They took a week to look at my New MacBook Air with water damage and would refuse to give me updates on when it was ready. Not to mention, they didn't even work on my computer one bit the week it was in the shop. Store manager was pretty rude, and wasn't very friendly at all. Overall Poopoo place, don't waste your time. Unsatisfied.

Every time I go to VGH it is a nightmare. The dishonesty and disorganization and lack of communication makes this an honestly horrible place to shop. It also does not help that they are unabashedly sexist. This trip was particularly special. I brought in a Gameboy Advanced SP, a Nintendo 2Ds and a gameboy game. I asked them to give me an estimate/quote before doing ANY work. My brother was with me and can validate all of this. I was assured I would be called before any work was done. I asked them to give me a quote on replacing the 2Ds' bottom screen and the sleep button because the slider isn't working and there are two deep gauges on the lower screen. Neither of these things were done. They cleaned the screen and cleaned the gameboy and then called me to inform me that they worked and that was going to be $25.00. When I got to the store and explained my frustration that I was not called, the associate Trevor tried to tell me that anywhere you go, car dealerships, housing repair, all of them will charge you to give you a quote because they had to "do work" to get an estimate. This is absolutely not true as I have worked with many other businesses who give quotes without charge. In the end they ended up not charging me because they "didn't want to argue." Which fine whatever. But it is absurd that there is a charge for using an air can and alcohol wipe when I could have done that on my own, then not even addressing the issues I requested. This is especially frustrating because no one else in the are does these repairs so I'm going to have to likely go to Spokane to get these repairs done. I have never had a good experience at this store. Buyer beware, especially if your female or female presenting.

I have had my M1 MacBook Pro repaired for liquid damage. They were very professional and friendly. The technician updated me regularly about the recommendations and estimate. Mine got a top case replaced. It was done in a relatively timely manner (~2weeks) given there was a 4 day holiday weekend in between.
I chose VGH computer service because they were an apple authorized repair store and they were the closest one to my location. Honestly, I had some concerns because most google reviews on apple product repair were negative. My experience with them was good. I do not have any negative opinions so far.

If you have PC issues they'll lie to you to spend more to fix it. They lied to me about my laptop and what it needed when all I needed to do was factory reset it, which they refused to do for me knowing that was the problem, while instead trying to charge me $100 to have the issue resolved.
