Revising my 1 Star review. Once I finally got someone at the Post Office to answer the phone they resolved my delivery promptly and apologized for the lazy behavior of the substitute driver.
I don't know why our Post Office is operated so poorly. They don't deliver items, but pretend they tried too and lie on the delivery tracking to indicate that you weren't there to sign for the item, even when you stayed home all day waiting on them. They also won't even answer the phone during business hours. They might as well be a call center in India.
Your much better off to deal with the Spirit Lake Office when possible.

I sent a package back to a business last week from Tennessee, Priority flat rate box. That was 6 days ago! It arrived on a Friday, and they tried to deliver it on a Saturday, KNOWING full well, since they cover that area, that this company is not open on the weekends. It's still sitting somewhere, not even out for delivery yet. USPS, UPS, FedEx, NONE of them care anymore about their customers, nor do they care about the condition of the packages once it is delivered, claiming they are not responsible. CONGRESS needs to get involved with these 3 MEGA companies and how dishonest and careless they've become.

Brooklynn, their supervisor was quick to respond when a hiccup occurred. She is genuinely so kind and helped me fix my small problem.

We previously dealt with CDA USPS and they were great for 9 years with little to no problems ever. We have now had more wrongfully delivered items than in the 9 previous years in ONE year of having Rathdrum USPS deliver our mail and packages. More pieces of mail than I can count have been delivered to the wrong house/mailbox and I have also gotten a lot of our neighbors mail. At least we’re honest people and return wrongfully delivered mail to the correct owner. But sadly our mail either gets tossed, packages kept, and even my kids birthday cards have been opened and most likely checked for money before putting it back in the mailbox to get to us weeks later. The laziness and ability to check accuracy of correct mail address/box is insane. Some serious improvements need to be made.

The level of incompetence I have observed and experienced since moving here in August ‘24 has been remarkable. Misdelivered mail is commonplace. Staff less than helpful. Easier to pass the buck. “Not my problem” seems the prevailing attitude in dealing with these issues. Very disappointing.

This is the worst post office in the history of the USps! The carriers now don’t even attempt to deliver packages they just give you the little slip saying they tried bit it’s a bunch of bull, they don’t try they don’t bother with it and they aren’t open Saturdays and they don’t extend their hours for the holidays and they just plain suck. If I could I would never get anything through them ever again! Thanks a lot for nothing usps!

They really need to just shut this place down and restart. Or hire people at hire wages who know what they’re doing and can be open when they’re supposed to be open. Genuinely the worst ran post office I have ever seen in my life. I have a new problem every month with this place and I’m just trying to get my mail. My packages have literally never been delivered correctly via upsp in rathdrum. Absolutely sickening that I’m forced to use such an awful service.

I live exactly.5 miles from the mail box cluster. The mail carrier won’t bring it to my door. The orange ticket was placed inside a grocery store flyer. I mentioned that when I went to retrieve my package. Excuses. I was told they put mail there to keep it all together. Thank goodness I actually looked at the flyer, which I rarely do. From now on if Amazon wants to send me large items it won’t be with USPS.

This postal service office is a complete joke! 4 times we have not had a fricken package delivered. Had a friend send us something and it was returned to them because the delivery person doesn't want to bring something to our door which is on a bottom floor and there isn't even a single step up. This is absolutely ridiculous and needs fixed. I have received a message 3 different times outside of the package our friends sent saying that we have to come pick up our package. There is literally a delivery note saying it is to be brought to the door! I am getting sick and tired of how lazy these people are. If I could give less stars I absolutely would
