Food was prepared hot when we ordered. The inside was tastefully eclectic and quaint. The lady was friendly and attentive to us. Food was wonderful. We ordered homemade fries, a yummy burger, homemade jam with butter toast, tasty and delicious breakfast scramble. Definitely worth the stop :)

So we went down to Jackpot on Friday. Saturday on the way home we stopped at Helen's Place Cafe inside a gas station just inside the Idaho border. There were only 2 young girls there working their butts off, cooking, serving, and running the convenience store. We had some of the best food we've ever had while on the road and the customer service was top notch. They let us know upfront that there was quite a wait ahead of us, they apologized several times, and thanked us for our patience. When I tell you it worth the wait, it's a total understatement. The food was amazing!!! I watched them take care of 2 tables of 4 plus at least 8 to go orders before they started on our order. They never stopped moving and they never stopped communicating with us. All food was made from scratch cooked to order, even the bread for toast is baked by the owner. 10/10 recommend.

When it was open, this was THE BEST place in Sumter,SC and surrounding communities to get your car alignment done. Sumter lost a treasure when Mr. Rogerson closed this shop down and retired!

I had the buckaroo burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I’ve had, everyone else got breakfast and said it was very good!

Food was amazing! Get the cinnamon roll! All the bread is homemade. The breakfast sandwich and burrito were great, too. We stopped by on our way back to Boise from Jackpot and were surprised by how delicious the food was. I’d rate the atmosphere a bit low since there were TONS of flies everywhere you had to swat them away from you, but still totally worth the stop and we will be back for another cinnamon roll!

I really wanted to give this place a five star review…and this can still change, but not quite yet. The reason for my four star rating is because of the amount of flies there were inside. They have the overhead fan above the store entrance which keeps the flies out, BUT the flies must be coming in from another door and reproducing rapidly and in large numbers because that is what they do. Unfortunately, flies are quite the nasty critters. On the good side…the service here is genuinely wonderful. It appears to be a family run business with a nice small-town atmosphere and an old-town feel. There were many interesting things to look at…even an old stock certificate for $15000 which I’m sure is now void. The food was excellent and my taste buds threw a party! The giant pancakes were the best I ever had and I would suggest offering maple syrup for an additional fee. The eggs were flavorful and tasted like eggs from a local farm. The bacon was thick juicy and on point. The potatoes were great…and the biscuits n gravy were delicious.I really want to stop here again, but I will not eat here unless the fly problem is resolved… and then I will change and edit my review to give perfect stars.

We were in the area and stopped to have breakfast here. When we entered the place looked a little neglected and there were a lot of flies so we ignored it because we were hungry and we were new to the area, after we sat down my family and I the flies began to bother us and it made us sick…. The food tasted good, but a lot of flies.

Long overdue review. My partner and I were driving through on our way to Yellowstone in 2021 and needed a good breakfast. The owner was working the cash register and was also the server and chef but she juggled them all effortlessly. The food was delicious and reminded me of having a home cooked meal from my mom. I forget her name but the owner was super kind, accommodating and great to talk to! I hope she got some help in the kitchen since but definitely a great little hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Support this place! Would definitely come back anytime I’m in the area.

I work for Anita in Hagerman, it was so fun to see the Rodgerson side to her. The little dinner feels like you are letting strangers into your house and cooking for them, so fun! The people and the atmosphere is just so real. Love you Anita ❤️Kid-friendliness: Her grandchildren help her out as well

Omg this place was amazing! Don’t let the outside fool you. The food was so good my kids asked if they could order seconds to go and if we could stop again on the way back!

Huh. What a nice restaurant. The atmosphere inside from years long gone. The whole decor is reminiscent of the 1940s. The service is one older gentleman but kind and polite, a great man. The food is home cooked and reasonably priced. It's really nice here, although it doesn't look inviting from the outside. I can recommend a good home coffee because it's great.
