Definitely a beautiful spot but some hotshot employee forced us to park in a reserved parking spot that we didn’t have any right to park in. He tried to tell us that we were not allowed to park where we had originally parked although that was not the truth. The poor guy needs to learn what’s right and what’s wrong. I guess he was just a grouchy old fellow that was having a bad day. Not a good place to go to spend some time alone with your family as the park is a busy place and completely packed. And, don’t forget, pay attention to how and where you park your car… ?

Nice mountain beach. Beach has lots of small rocks and less sand which is expected at a beach in the mountains. We were there on a hot summer weekend and it was busy but still lots of room to pick a great spot all day.

This place is amazing! It's such a nice beach spot and has the great pavilion. There's a little dock you can jump off and into the water. It's super cool to see all the boats lined up and coming/leaving the peir. You could easily spend multiple hours here.

Free parking. Gorgeous scenery. Decent bathrooms. Pretty nice beach. Paved path. Benches. Mini Statue of Liberty. But difficult to move in the water due to the prolific waves from passing boats (Can be fun, though). Tiny dead fish skeletons floating on the surface. Lots of bird feces so bring beach shoes. No dogs allowed.

I had the opportunity to drive from Fernie, Canada to Standpoint, and it was a memorable journey. One of the highlights along the way was Hugh Lake, which boasts a picturesque beach and a sprawling playground area. The lake also offers boating options, which I highly recommend trying. However, to ensure a smooth experience, it's best to book your boating adventure in advance as availability can be limited.Aside from the natural beauty of Hugh Lake, the adjacent area has even more to offer. There is a delightful downtown area nearby, filled with quaint shops and charming attractions. Exploring this area is a must, and it provides a pleasant change of pace from the outdoor activities.Overall, Fernie to Standpoint was a fantastic drive, with Hugh Lake and its stunning beach and playground, the vibrant downtown area brimming with great restaurants, and the clean and inviting walking areas. It's a destination that offers a little bit of everything and a fantastic experience for visitors.Playground: Basketball, beach sports, and kids stuffRestrooms: Big areaPicnic area: They got Hugh area for BBQ

Good place to spend a day with your family. But no lifeguard, paddle boards inside swimming area. Sometimes overcrowded.
